These people have dominated our discourse and lives as ground level operatives for fascism.

Of course WE see the puncher & are like Hell Yeah but the fascists in charge see the guy going around trying to get punched & are like, ‘We can turn him into a weapon.’

He’s essentially job hunting.

This is horrific, and I hope they all get released soon.

“Even in russia, they don’t treat children like this.” - really? Maybe not russian children.

But that's an arcade, it's something very different... this is my favorite one of "rent consoles by the hour" shops. This one I actually know the source :)

It's not a coincidence that you rarely see women in any of these photos. I have fond memories, but I know it could also be a very toxic place.

Places like these couldn't offer safety & space for queer experimentation, or even the emotional connect of playing alone. You wouldn't play FF8 & cry here.

Each time I point out that the Republican platform is simple (they want to sexually abuse children, and they want you to pay for it), a few people think I'm exaggerating, and usually some small number of people think I'm being sardonic or something. I mean it quite literally.

"Ethical AI" does not exist. There is no reality where you can have generative AI that's "ethically trained". There are ZERO AI models trained ethically, and there will never be any.

The term has been made up by people who want a pass on using AI. You don't get that pass, slop peddlers.

Unfriendly reminder, AI is being used to destroy trust. Do not normalize the use of AI. AI can not reliably enhance videos or low-quality images.

If you work in journalism: you cannot use machine learning to upscale a photo and still be telling the truth. It WILL lie, even if you don't intend to tell one.

It can only do what it does by inventing details where none exist, which means it will inherently be misrepresenting reality.

ICE raids are not the first time this was made explicit. I think people downplay how much Jim Crow was not just about controlling Black people but it was also about controlling white people. If you thought racism was dumb and acted that way you could end up with a bomb in your home
Just keep coming back to the fact that keeping people in a constant state of terror is a form of mass disablement and essential to the eugenic project that is the United States.

Facts on facts. I had the same thought re: Slave Catchers.

But a lot of people won't make that connection certain people don't want to teach/learn about slavery and what really was going on in that time because they can't blame some other country.
