His office line isn't taking messages after hours.
Tim Kaine is a chump who believes Republican promises.

Call him and yell at him if he's your senator.

Vote Kaine out. I have met him and personally like him. But he caved. Vote him out.

I think Senate folders are significantly underestimating how fucking angry Democratic voters are at them
Much like Hannibal didn't press his advantage to invade Rome, the Dems end the shutdown so the Senators won't be inconvenienced by flight delays.
Yeah, but that was before air travel was in trouble and the senators were personally affected, see
if they were going to cave anyway they should’ve done it a week ago to spare SNAP recipients the agony.
What was all that shutdown for exactly?
Still can't believe there was a time when I thought ancient Greek vase paintings were boring.

No reason for the GOP to reject this offer. We were told the current POTUS is a great maker of deals. So, why can't he make this deal?
schumer's audience for this isn't bluesky, it's caucus moderates, state governors, and federal worker unions who might be getting shaky about holding the line, and it worked, at least with the caucus mods, who showed up for this in solidarity.
Senate Democrats propose 1-year Obamacare subsidies punt in new shutdown offer
Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer made the offer in a Friday floor speech.

If he's a guardian of Art. 1, and by extension the Constitution, why did he advocate for the Court to make a decision on legal grounds at the end (the effect on the markets and the economy)? Economic policy making isn't an Art. 3 court's job ...
Anyone else still excited that Cuomo lost?
That is a heck of a dumb take from the author of that article. The Dems had pretty much a clean sweep of the Virginia elections and the response to that is, "Yeah, problems and what not"? What a doofus that guy is.
I finished reading a book for the podcast, so I decided to read some fiction next. Specifically, I am going to re-read Gates of Fire. I read it 20 some years ago, but I don't remember much about it. I'll let you know my thoughts. I bought the novel for my son and he, predictably, never read it.
IT people everywhere are furious.

Well look at that - the podcast has its own AI Overview on Google. This isn't a terrible summary, but it could be better (shocker).

Emperor Justinian's invasion of his own country hastened the fall of the Roman Empire. But after a thousand years of darkness and poverty Italy saw a Renaissance. Could the same thing happen here?
You're about to have an extra hour of time this weekend. Why not spend it learning about drinking habits in Greek Antiquity by listening to this interview with Amy Pistone?

Demeter and Persephone flank a young youth thought to be Triptolemos. This beautiful Augustan era rendition based on a Greek relief is our pick for #ReliefWednesday and #ClassicsTober25.

I cannot believe there are still people in my mentions arguing that boycotting an election because the candidates aren’t addressing your issue is a way to get them to pay attention.
