#BikeHfx. I stopped to chat with staff at the Lord Nelson this morning, after getting soaked in the South Park bike lane. They are fully aware that they:

1. Aren’t following the water conservation rules; &
2. Are soaking cyclists in the bike lane.

They have no plans to change either of these.

That Halifax has no idea where it's money comes from and it's councillors believe that growth pays for growth even as they vote to borrow billions of dollars to cover the cost of growth that did not pay for itself.

Another reminder that a 13-year study found that protected bike-lanes led to a drastic decline in fatalities for all road users.

ALL ROAD USERS.

And painted bike-lanes? No safety improvement at all.

For sharrows, it’s actually safer to NOT have them.

Nova Scotia, our Covid forecast is now severe. About 1 of every 58 people is infected. Wear a well-fitted mask (like an N95) in public spaces. Open windows or meet outside. Booking for Covid & flu vaccines is now available.

A *very* interesting thread about the level of lead found in protein supplements (more in a single serving than is safe to consume in an entire day). Most interesting to me: more in plant-based protein powers. Like...significantly more lead.

my latest investigation for @consumerreports.org is based on months of reporting and 60+ lab tests of leading protein supplements

we found that most protein powders and shakes have more lead in one serving than our experts say is safe to have in a day (🧵)
