quick vibe check: what models are people using for coding nowadays? It seems everyone used to just pay $200 for Claude max and hit up opus all the time, but figure you can probably do something similar with opus plan / some cheaper models in act mode....? #vibecoding #llm #AI

I'm so glad someone else is saying this because I will always have a soft spot for Indoctrination Theory
This is a comparison that would never have occurred to me and honestly I'm stunned by how well it maps. Come for the rock solid analysis, run like hell from the shrieking manchildren infesting most of the comments. gizmodo.com/stranger-thi...

This is an important point, because the Rules Of The Universe mean that it's simply impossible for a G7 government to post in two or three different places. It can't be done! There are no apps! YOU'RE IMAGINING IT!

NEW ‘Scandal’. A word to be used sparingly - but this is it.

Glorious, scathing, righteous article today by @stephenkb.bsky.social. I continue to be confused why Keir Starmer, an *actual human rights lawyer*, can't make this argument.
A justifiably scathing conclusion to a justifiably scathing newsletter from @stephenkb.bsky.social today (I also love his observation that this government can’t tell “barnacle from boat”).

I am once again disappointed our Prime Minister, an *actual human rights lawyer*, can't stand up and proudly say that idea of stripping someone of their citizenship without due process because of stuff they put on twitter is profoundly wrong.
Having had a day to think through everything about El-Fattah, here's where I stand. Yes, it's possible to believe all of these things at once! In fact, it really shouldn't be that hard.

Very good. I would add on “8)” - people going “it was a long time ago” are contributing to the same problem of “citizenship is conditional” that they are trying to oppose. He could have sent those tweets today and he would still be a British citizen.

Shamima Begum was the beginning of something in so many ways, one of which was 'the last government's inability to just do its job properly (in this case by passing legislation that would have allowed it to prosecute her here at home) and instead going 'no option but to undermine all our rights'.
There should be literally no circumstances, ever, where citizenship is can be revoked. If you literally sign up to fight for an opposing army in a war, then we should prosecute you for treason not revoke citizenship

Good interview in the paper, this. I think Sadiq is right: London 'needs' to be less successful than it is for a bunch of political arguments here in the UK to work, hence the fictions being invented about it:
Populists attack London because it is ‘progressive and successful’, says Sadiq Khan
Rightwing attacks on one of the world’s most visited cities at odds with reality, says mayor

It was also an IGF nominee and was called "one of the best adventure games ever made" by PC Gamer.

Eternal Strands is one of the best action adventure games I've played in years, and I've heard next to no one talk about it. It's gorgeous, is a major homage to Shadow of the Colossus, and has telekinesis magic that puts Star Wars games' force usage to shame.

The state of X/twitter continues to be deeply depressing to me. Loads of interesting (primarily US & AI/LLM focused, but still interesting) discourse still there, but anytime I open it I get swapped from "Following" to "For You" and turns out "For Me" is always just bloody raging Elon.

Apart from anything, all planning consultation periods should be reduced by 75%. And if local authorities do not get off their ass and process an application in time it should be automatically granted. With the current system they work as slowly as they can, and do not give two fucks.
