I am well aware. I would prefer a democratic China. No country is perfect. But China seems to be going forwards as the west collapses and regresses to superstition and stupidity.

Glad to see the occasional bit of good news, although it will be drowned out by idiots moaning about farmland. How ever many times I share pictures of sheep grazing between my solar panels, people still refuse to see they can coexist.

Life would be awful if we all had real time stats on how nice our personality was, how good looking we are, how popular we were, all hovering in front of our eyes all the time.

The US currently has armed troops on the streets, and a massively funded heavily armed and masked govt-mob called ICE that drag people off the streets to deport them without any legal basis.
They ban US citizens from buying Chinese cars because they are too good.
The US is not vaguely 'free'.

Trump threatened 100% tariffs on Friday, then changed his mind on Sunday, was busy Monday, but today said tariffs could still come in in December, or not, or they might be sooner.

And yes, its a small thing but I am deliberately avoiding using $ and always defaulting to writing as though I am American. I very much am not, and its depressing to realize how many of us just default to US speak. That time has passed I think.

Measuring AI compute in GW is dumb as fuck. Its like measuring government projects in £. The ideal is to get stuff done using LESS money and LESS energy. Boasting that you are building a 1GW datacenter is as stupid as boasting that a bypass cost £50m.
Boast about the achievement, not the waste.

I spent a fair bit of time today studying my UI for Ridiculous Space Battles and wondering if it would be cool to add little fluffy bits of UI ridiculousness at certain points. But its tinkering at the edges. I need big bold decisions on making the UI more ridiculous!
