One of the things I miss most about channel surfing: there was always that one movie that you stopped on and watched the rest of, no matter what. For me that was When Harry Met Sally. But more than that, by all reports he was truly one of the good guys, and this is so awful for those who knew him.
As will be noted over and over in the coming days, the *beginning* of his directing career was SPINAL TAP, THE SURE THING, THE PRINCESS BRIDE, STAND BY ME, A FEW GOOD MEN, MISERY and WHEN HARRY MET SALLY. That is an absolutely *amazing* run with quite a lot of variety.

Mets fans have every right to be furious about Alonso. He should have been a franchise player. OTOH, the Mets FO is absolutely right that nobody should sign him for more than 3 yrs. If the decision was about who would offer the longest contract, I totally get why they didn’t fight for him.

Genuinely thought about using it as a joke in a work communication the other day, but then wasn’t sure if it would be seen that way and chickened out. In retrospect, I probably made the right choice there…
I just laughed out loud thinking “Thank you for your attention to this matter” is the new “Sieg Heil” and how funny it would be for people to just start screaming it at each other at the end of social interactions

I spent the majority of the summer watching the oldest team in the league establish early deficits, fight back to even the score and then immediately blow it due to their own ineptitude. Good news is they ended up winning the World Series. Bad news is I don't have a good Senate comp for Miguel Rojas
