This is a pretty cost effective way to give it a rattle if you're curious! The firmware is free to download and runs on a Teensy 4.1, which I picked up for like £20.

Takes a little time to install (especially on the deck) and get samples etc onto a micro SD. But an hour well spent!

Isn't it! I'm hugely surprised at the amount of stuff it has going on for, like, 1mb or whatever it is

I had it on the desktop for all of 5 minutes then thought nah, I will want to play with this lying in bed

For some reason it's a bit jank on the deck when I first fire it up but it settles down

This is the little guy powering it, the Teensy 4.1

It's plugged into the USB port up top there. And is, for now, dangling unceremoniously behind the Steam Deck.

A pal is kindly 3D printing me a nice enclosure for it that I'll maybe clip onto the Deck somehow.

Yup, precisely! Although rather than simply taking over the screen it's running in Steam as a 'game' with the Teensy providing input.

It requires a bit of fiddling, but there are a bunch of scripts on Github that you can pop in the Konsole to take care of it (link below)

Oh I bet there would be LOTS of fun to be had pairing it with those modules!

And totally, even whizzing through a few YouTube videos the amount of depth in this thing seems wild.

I mess around with Deflemask now and again (love it too) but reckon this will occupy all my tracker time for a while!

It's tremendous fun!! It runs off this little delight, which I got for £20

Then you can jam it into a computer, or Steam Deck, or presumably a heap of other devices

It's a lot more powerful (and fun) than I expected!
