Hahaha this is the way! I'll be chain-eating panettone until January

We've got a Lidl right beside us - their entire Christmas section will be getting *rinsed*
November 15, 2025 at 5:41 PM
Haha! Had a more traditional one in my hand but couldn't resist the allure of pistachio goo.
November 15, 2025 at 5:40 PM
Ohhhh yes 😍😍😍😍😍

YOU KNOW IT

A visit there can make a shit day great

And a great day transcendent!
November 15, 2025 at 5:21 PM
I went in and thought, ah, no panettone out yet, maybe next week

Then I realised they had them all dangling from the ceiling, all festive 😍

One of my favourite places in the world tbh

I thought you might dig that!!

This is it here, "Let's Go Classics" by Takeshi Terauchi and the Bunnys. It's a lot of fun!

His whole catalogue is incredible, actually have a shamisen/surf guitar one of his that I haven't listened to yet, really gotta bust it out soon too.
November 15, 2025 at 3:56 PM
Oh man totally! I've got a bunch of Takeshi Terauchi/Bunnys records, scorching surf rock/eleki.

There's one brilliant one full of surf covers of classical standards, it rips! Might bust it out tomorrow for a treat 🌊

Aw isn't it cool!! I love stuff like this so much
November 15, 2025 at 2:59 PM

Like to assume so, maybe even twice.

I also like to think about an old Adam & Joe bit where they imagine a Shawshank TV series, with oul' Andy D having to escape a tunnel of shite in increasingly ludicrous scenarios.

Like, in space.
November 15, 2025 at 11:17 AM
Apparently when Tim Robbins did a musical show in Belfast, a heckler shouted "PLAY TUNNEL OF SHITE"

It pops into my head every single time I see Shawshank mentioned
November 15, 2025 at 10:59 AM
Yeah I definitely will!

I snagged this for ¥2420, about £11

On discogs it's going from £57 up to £369

Absolute all-timer of a bargain

It's a really interesting record, and a beautiful one, by one of my very favourite artists.

For one more piece of delicious strangeness, it's rumoured that the A Side and B Side sync up wonderfully when played simultaneously.

Maybe I need another copy.
November 15, 2025 at 9:51 AM
Side A is full of the kankyō ongaku school of ambient that Takashi Kokubo just excels at; comparable to Hiroshi Yoshimura, but arguably steeped even deeper in nature

On the B side, purely field recordings of beaches, birds and some city locations for good measure
November 15, 2025 at 9:51 AM
Actually, this 12" EP was commissioned by Sanyo to accompany a line of air conditioners

It was given away free, in hopes that it would - along with freshly conditioned air - give buyers the feeling of being at the beach

Or if you're more cynical, it would shift more units

Maybe both can be true
November 15, 2025 at 9:51 AM
Well, for one it's a picture disc (more on that in a bit)

So what, you see picture discs all the time, right?

Slightly more unusual to see ones marked NOT FOR SALE

Oh so maybe it's a press promo thing?

Nope, not quite...
