Pretty much exactly my feeling. Watched the first one when it came out and it just left a bad taste in my mouth for reasons I couldn't pin down. You've spelled it out for me.

It's more a linguistic thing, but I keep thinking about how people who openly identify as "conservatives" socially are saying, at the end of the day "I believe the current status quo benefits me implicitly and I will do everything I can to prevent that changing". It's outspoken selfishness.

NEW HUNTER THE PARENTING AUDIOLOG IS OUT!

It's the sort of noble behaviour you'd see after a few generations of stagnation and complacency (see English artisocrats going into the Georgian era and onwards for example). If you're in a setting where a noble title means something however, you have to be able to prove you can keep it.

The 3rd edition box set for 40k was my first real thing I owned. Got interested after attending a Warhammer club at school, so me and my brother went halves on this one.

This is Minty, my self care tamagotchi. I'm not very good at taking care of myself unless someone else is reliant on my doing so. I'm working on that in therapy, but in the meantime, this little goober makes sure I eat, take my meds etc. each day. Because if I don't, they don't get any exercise 1/2
