If the horse and buggy had been a powerful industry like oil today, we’d still be clip clopping down cobblestone streets and climate change wouldn’t be an issue.

The new quarterly update to Australia's emissions inventory shows emissions down 2.2% for the year to June 2025.

Emissions down across most sectors, except for transport.

You keep doing insanely amazing things. Can you develop some tool to flip the MAGA perception of reality?
@miriamgrace.bsky.social made a request that led me down an interesting rabbit hole.

This will visualize any bluesky post as a node diagram,, with different weights applied to relative account reach of people interacting with it. It’s pretty interesting.

Breaking character: I am open to the idea the media's coverage of Biden's age and mental acuity was fair or perhaps not even tough enough. But the fact that it was so much tougher than the coverage of Trump's (more severe) mental decline is damning and I can't see how anyone could argue otherwise.
NYT isn’t worth reading because they are in the bag for Trump

Restating questions to get the unspoken part out in the open is an art that requires broad knowledge, logic, and quick wits.
Why did the nation that used Christianity to justify slavery, ethnic cleansing of indigenous populations, racial segregation, homophobia and preemptive war elect a dumb racist crook who's the opposite of everything Jesus taught?

Is that the question?
The real question we need to ask ourselves as a nation is, WHY did so many people vote for this in the first place? Trump is the symptom. Not the problem.

On recent trip to Türkiye, I was reminded over and over again that humans today are no different from our ancestors from 1000 years ago to 10,000 years ago. We aren’t any smarter or less evil. Some of us improve the world and others tear it down.

Definitely worth reading the whole long piece. And sending it to your senators and member of Congress. They won’t read it but staff might. Unsurprising is the link between individuals in law enforcement and right wing militia groups.
Truth is crazier than fiction.
This is a wild story and worth the read.

Our country has a problem and it’s nestled itself into this administration.
Outraged by the Jan. 6 Capitol riot, a wilderness survival trainer spent years undercover climbing the ranks of right-wing militias.

He didn’t tell police or the FBI. He didn’t tell family or friends. The one person he told was ProPublica reporter @josh-kaplan.bsky.social.
