I’m going to make a thread about how the feds have changed their tactics here in Los Angeles because the community has forced them to adapt.

Big rain projected in LA the next two days. Check on your unhoused neighbors! Heavy duty, weather resistant tarps would be a great gift!

Trump promised free plane tickets and $1,000 “exit bonuses” to immigrants who opted to self-deport.

ProPublica spoke to a dozen Venezuelan immigrants who said they followed the president’s instructions, yet never received the promised assistance.
“I Don’t Want to Be Here Anymore”: They Tried to Self-Deport, Then Got Stranded in Trump’s America
Venezuelan immigrants signed up for a Trump-promoted app called CBP Home, which promised a safe and easy way to leave the country, and prepared to leave on their given departure dates. Those dates hav...

My latest is the story of how my community has rallied to protect and defend our neighbors in recent days, as ICE has targeted the Rogers Park neighborhood in Chicago. "This is not a story about a moment of victory, but a moment of being reminded of our power."
They Came for Our Neighbors. We Showed Up.
Before long, there were dozens, and then hundreds of people in the streets, watching and responding.

Someone is going to ask Brent about the fumble forward rule & he’s not gonna know it.
ailaminad.bsky.social
60-year-old Chuck Cecil is running through bags before the game. Meanwhile Brent doesn’t even try to win the game in regulation.

God I hate how much of a bitch Brent is. 0:19 on the clock & kneels it out. It’s embarrassing.

Also: if you work for ICE, even if you’re not one of the ones arresting citizens or tackling 15-year-olds or zip-tying kids together and segregating them by race, you’re part of the mechanism making it happen, and you should suffer long-term social and post-regime-change consequences.

Some weirdo on Twitter has been absolutely melting down for like 36 straight hours because I posted:

When this is over, do not forget what ICE did, and what ICE is. And do not make room for them in society. Make sure they know that they are, and will continue to be, reviled and beneath contempt.

Fun fact about the Salvation Army: they use a form of substance use treatment called work therapy. Oh, and by treatment, I mean they have people who have been convicted of drug charges work for their stores & warehouses in exchange for room, board, around a $1 a week, and minimal actual therapy.

Arizona is a darn good team. solid OL, transfer skill players have been productive around a veteran QB and Danny Gonzalez's defense has been raising hell all season. got BYU on the ropes!

This is as much a legacy of the War on Drugs than anything else. He has a controlled substance conviction separate and apart from the exonerated murder conviction.

After spending 43 years in prison for a crime he didn't commit, evidence hidden by the prosecution reversed his conviction. Rather than finally enjoying freedom, ICE abducted him for deportation

Depraved.

I’d like to check in as another Dodger fan peacefully spending my Friday night playing Fortnite (while listening to The Game That Will Never End)

With game pass ultimate getting Fortnite crew I’m actually getting into Fortnite and it’s a ton of fun. I really dig it. Finally learning the systems and it’s a great game to just hop into for a few minutes. Much better than sweaty games you need to have played for 800 hours to not die every 5 sec.
