With the holidays upon us, don't give to Salvation Army. Not even change. It's a scumbag "charity" run by anti-gay zealots.

Habitat for Humanity is great. Your local Food Bank is great.

Fun fact about the Salvation Army: they use a form of substance use treatment called work therapy. Oh, and by treatment, I mean they have people who have been convicted of drug charges work for their stores & warehouses in exchange for room, board, around a $1 a week, and minimal actual therapy.

My kingdom for a tale that can be told in under 60k words.

I remember in high school having to write a "short story" for an assignment. Even carving it to almost incomprehensibility I couldn't get it under the word limit.

Argh!

Why must all CAD programs on Linux make me want to tear out what little hair I have left?

The "best" is FreeCAD, which... works. Ish.

Yes, I learned on AutoCAD, and having a different workflow is a bit of a pain, but it's the extrusion and sketches that really bring the rage out.

oh wow, the early reports are that the new Tron movie isn’t doing very well at the box office. this is wild, because the last Tron movie didn’t do very well at the box office, and also the very first Tron movie didn’t do very well at the box office and also neither of those first two were very good.
