10 years ago I was working a dogshit gas station job or a dogshit contractor job. Can't remember which. I was spending all my money on liquor such that my local store knew me by name. I was 2 years post my first suicide attempt and 1 year post my second. I was 2 years away from getting sober.

This is so real. You need to just humiliate them and you can't do that by arguing. Understand that they have no principles. By arguing with them they've already won. Just shame them for being internet addicted weirdos.
If you have to deal with conservative family this Thanksgiving, the only two things you should be saying to them is. "You have internet addiction, that's internet addiction garbage." and "Be a fucking man/adult and live and let live." That's it, nothing more. They'll leave humiliated.

Meeting was not just not a bad thing, it was a definite good thing. I applied for a promotion recently and they're gonna get me some training stuff to try and get me a leg up in the interview and the job itself.
I do not like coming in to a message from my manager asking to meet with her in her office today and some how "Don't freak out it's nothing bad" is not overly reassuring.
