Funny, how the "No Kings" protesters were "elderly white hippies" in August (per Stephen Miller), but are "pro-Hamas terrorists and violent criminals" in October (per Karoline Leavitt).

It's *almost* as if this regime makes its shameless lies up as it goes along . . .

This weekend in Minneapolis we have a Prince musical, a Knight's concert, and a No Kings rally
Why are people evil? Upbringing? Broken brain chemistry? Those are on ALL of us.
We are all going through shit. All of us. Even the worst of us.

ALL crime is mental illness. Society would be better off if we recognized that. But vilification is easy.
Once you believe that maybe you're just evil because society believes in the concept of evil and irredeemable people, it's easy to believe that maybe you're irredeemable.
Here's my really hot take...

Mass shooters are mentally ill. But we are all to blame for their existence. We created a society that makes mental healthcare difficult to obtain. We made access to guns easy to obtain. But we also created this idea that some people are just evil.
We are very quick to label people as irredeemable. And maybe we are right.
Every single terrible thing I've ever done as an adult was while I was in therapy or on medication. When we say we need mental healthcare in this country, are we prepared for the idea that sometimes people are just terminal?
For all the things I despise about MCI in Kansas City, the smaller checkpoints at each set of gates makes so much more sense from a security standpoint.
Airport screening is such security theater. A suicide bomber could take out 2 planes worth of people all crammed in the security queue.
And then TSA gets SO MAD at you for doing it wrong! FFS! TSA explains the procedures all day every day. We travelers are just strangers passing through a strange land. Give a little grace

A terrific AFP fact check uses reverse image searches to expose how a White House video took scenes from Florida, Texas, South Carolina and Nebraska and lied that they showed "Chicago is in chaos."

These editors just cannot help but step on their own dicks when they talk about literally anything in the Midwest, can they?
You got a talk to your agent. I'll represent you for a modest fee.

There was a time in the early 2010s when beer Twitter was loaded with Kickstarters for breweries. Some came to fruition. Many didn't. *cough* Wilderness *cough*
We discuss crowd funding on today's episode. Listen at the link or wherever you get your pods.

United We Drink: 151 - Crowd Funding
In the early 2010s it seemed like every aspiring brewery was crowd funding to kick start their businesses. After some businesses on the brink of closing tried to capitalize on crowd funding the method...

Thank you. Yes, that NYT thing was so passive in its presentation.
Processing is a tool. It can be used to create crap (Doritos, instant ramen, Lunchables) OR decent food (legume-rich soups, shelf-stable whole wheat bread, chickpea pasta).

So why are we overrun with the crap?

Because THAT'S WHAT PEOPLE LIKE.

Consumers aren't victims; we're co-conspirators.
I'm 46 and I barely even want people my age running the world.
Godalmighty. Can we just get a few people in office who are under the age of sixty? Please?

I’m 72. I don’t want oldsters running the world.
The launch of 77-year-old Janet Mills’ Senate campaign in #Maine reignites a debate about age among Democrats, who spent the year arguing that the party, still reeling from Joe Biden's age-related withdrawal from the 2024 presidential race.

GOP: WHAT? YOU QUOTED CHARLIE KIRK IN A WAY THAT MADE HIM LOOK BAD AFTER HE DIED ... DEPORTATION!
Do you get a voice acting credit?
I will defend some really panned pop music. I just can't with them
I don't like to think I'm petty but then I remember how much respect I lose for a person when they say they are a U2 fan.
