Months ago, The Independent reported Vance's pushback on Elon's planned new party.
Now The New York Post reports that, three years out, Elon is backing Vance as GOP nominee.
Apparently they expect Trump to leave Jan 2029, facing court...and prison. They forget why Trump chose Vance.

I'm about 20 mi south. We have a small brush fire right now, luckily, in an area where it seems like it's being easily contained.

But there are plenty of fields between here and there (not secluded on the base) where a match can cause a disaster, and a wayward armament could have been horrible.
