It's up to drivers to drive safely, and bright colors don't make a difference when drivers aren't paying attention.
screenshot of a post by the Surrey Road Policing Unit (UK), which has an attached photo showing a police car with hi-viz yellow paint, and the rear wheel has been crushed into the side of the car by another driver. the post text reads:
How have you turned this into a discussion about high viz?
We have cars covered in it and big flashy lights and drivers STILL don't see us.

OOP!!!! I love that. “ChatGPT is for third party thinkers.”

We have no choice but to drag them.

When I asked my eldest if he's ever used that he said he's not a third party thinker.

Sometimes the red heart just feels a bit too personal/romantic for online folks. I think I tend to default to one of 🩵💙💜 where 🩵 feels extra bluesky to me.

The mayor's budget priorities speak volumes. If you're not wealthy, he just doesn't care about your livability in this city.

With 22 full time employees devoted to graffiti abatement in Bruce Harrell's 2026 budget, that team would officially be twice as large as SDOT's Vision Zero team (11 people).
“One Seattle Graffiti Plan” - Citywide initiative for graffiti removal, including targeted enforcement
and assistance for impacted businesses, support for public art and volunteer clean-up efforts.
• The 2026 Proposed Budget adds $2.1 million and 6 FTE, bringing the total Citywide expenditures
for graffiti abetment to $6.1 million and 22 FTE.
• Proposed budget also includes transfer of existing staff and funding from SPU to SPR. Details will
be further discussed in the upcoming Seattle Parks and Recreation presentation.

But wait!, there's more!

I (and probs you too, dear reader) live in a capitalist society where the best-paying jobs are mostly all thought work.

Covid fucks with your brain in many ways, just take a gander at the research.

By consistently masking in public spaces, I'm protecting my earning power.

Brains are asshole liars sometimes! I really love the happy little bots you make, and the reminders to take meds and do my stretchies. 💜

Any tips on dealing with Air Canada missing checked luggage? Special hone numbers or magic phrases?

As people start thinking about holiday donation drive: reminder that the Salvation Army is both homophobic and requires people to attend Christian religious services to get aid, there are lots of organizations out there that don't hate some of your employees, and you should support one of them!

Posts about people returning to their homes are designed to elicit a sense of conclusion, of normality, that simply does not exist when Israel dropped the equivalent of multiple nuclear weapons on an area the size of Seattle.

If I weren’t embarrassed about some of the things I used to believe, that would mean I’d never grown!

~I~ used to be less accepting of differences. ~I~ used to be less progressive. ~I~ used to not see my own biases and prejudices. I can say those things because of how much I disagree with my past-self. I don't spend any of my remaining air defending the younger version of me who sucked.

We’re all subject to propaganda, especially when it’s so pervasive.

I WANT there to be true peace.
I WANT us to not have to worry about COVID.

That doesn’t make them true.
thecasey.bsky.social
We’ve watched this happen with COVID. The lie is more convenient to those in power, so that becomes the narrative, even as people continue to be hurt and die.

I feel thrown by the widespread proclamations of a glorious, lasting peace in Gaza. A lot even treats “now that it’s all over” as the unquestioned premise.

It still looks like a disaster to me. Am I way off? Are my domestic politics distorting my view? Either the consensus is wrong or I am.

or rallying around white mediocrity when competence and courage are most needed.

White liberals love to distance themselves from conservatives, as if complicity requires a MAGA hat.

But history keeps proving that when whiteness feels threatened,

Remember: You can't force a site or service to treat minors differently than adults without requiring EVERY USER to establish whether they're an adult. Which is, inherently, a deanonymization mandate, because to verify age, you must verify identity.

Yep! And I like songs and get them stuck in my head and everything. I do struggle when people try to point out certain technical details and no one has ever accused me of having rhythm. 😅

It’s me! I don’t dislike music, and I understand why people can get really passionate about it, but I clearly don’t have that kind of intensity about it. I can go weeks without opening the music app. If most people go from “music is great” to “music is the best thing ever” and I think it’s fine?
