Big fan of GMacht's hiatus beard, the sister wives and the dude with the middle name Johannes, FWIW. Used to count shits. When I'm not being an insufferable fangirl, I'm...an insufferable person with BIG opinions and analysis. Basically just insufferable.

Yup. I’ve seen this happen to a bunch of young moms. Probably the majority. Recently a friend of mine told me that “Tylenol causes autism” and that she heard it from “a very liberal Tik Tok influencer”.

“I don’t mask and I’m not sick”

“I don’t know anyone with Long Covid”

“I’m not worried I trust my immune system”

“If I get sick I will try harder to get better”

These are all coping mechanisms.

People can’t accept that they will likely become disabled eventually. 🧵

...but remember, we "can't afford" to make sure everyone is fed, housed, and doesn't go bankrupt over healthcare. 🥴

A model of President Trump's proposed triumphal arch to commemorate the country’s 250th anniversary was seen on the Resolute Desk as the president held a press conference in the Oval Office on Wednesday.

When asked on Wednesday who the arc is for, Trump told CBS News’ Ed O’Keefe: “Me.”

But anyway, just because you make me all emo by the end doesn't mean there weren't (at least) 100 reasons NOT to do ANY of that to begin with so.

Not me crying about these two in 2025 like their story hasn't been fucked up in every way imaginable (and then some), many times over, for many a year. 😭

The Supreme Court’s majority right wing indicated in oral arguments that they think racism is over on the same day that the vice president defended the “I love Hitler” guy, and that the NYT reported that the current administration plans to accept only white, English-speaking refugees.

The Supreme Court's Republican appointees sound ready to transform the 14th and 15th Amendments into a weapon against the very racial minorities they were meant to protect—handing Republicans 15-19 additional House seats in the process. A disaster for democracy.
slate.com/news-and-pol...
Is it racist to remedy racism? That’s the question at the heart of Callais v. Louisiana, which the Supreme Court heard on Wednesday. The case asks whether the Voting Rights Act gives Black Louisianans too much political power—and if so, whether the landmark law violates the Constitution. Unsurprisingly, the Republican-appointed justices seem eager to rule that it does. Throughout oral arguments, they suggested the VRA protects minority voters too effectively, dragging the government into race-conscious considerations that offend the equal protection rights of the white voters who sued in this case. And they floated various ways to gut what remains of the statute by twisting it beyond recognition or striking it down altogether. The result would be a windfall for Republicans, who stand to gain at least 19 seats in the House of Representatives if the Supreme Court frees them to gerrymander Black communities into oblivion. Such a decision would also devastate minority representation in Congress, eliminating up to 30 percent of the Congressional Black Caucus.

When Lyndon Johnson, Jimmy Carter, Bill Clinton, Barack Obama, Hillary Clinton (don't talk to me about the electoral college) and Joe Biden won, they did so without the majority of white voters. They know exactly what happens if they silence Black voices, that's why they're trying so hard.

Understand.

This country is on track to make sure Black people can never vote or be represented again. It’s happening.

Voting Rights is the root of EVERYTHING. Voting rights are about to END.

I know there’s a lot going on. But without Voting Rights… this country ENDS.

Black and brown boys are routinely seen and treated like adults and Black girls are sexualized as promiscuous. Meanwhile, grown-ass white men are forever infantilized.

Remember, brown 13-year-olds are hardened menaces to society, but 30-something Republican Hitler afficionados in positions of power are just li’l guys.

Fun fact…
If you protect Black Women’s voting rights all women’s voting rights are protected.

It really is that simple 🤷🏾‍♀️
