To be extra clear- that is not her fault. The utility corporations are out of control. Nothing less than ending the private ownership of the entire energy system will put us anywhere near on track for climate or democracy in our lifetimes.

I think it’s really important to be honest about this right now, or we risk even more people losing faith that fighting is worth doing, especially if we claim doing X results in Y. What blocks Y even after X happens? Talking early, loudly, frequently about this will matter.

Energizing people around the utility commission election in Georgia is good purely because every attempt that can be made to withhold power from the Republicans in this country should be fought tooth and nail. But it will have nearly zero effect on utility governance long term, unfortunately.
