The “debate” on drug use is totally corrupted by the emotions and prejudice of too many.

We should care about saving lives and helping people, not stigmatising and criminalising those with serious addictions.

They lie about the ECHR.
Just like they lied about Brexit. Claiming if we just got rid of that ‘European’ thing, we’d be free, we’d have control, all our problems solved…
It’s NOT TRUE.
We’d inflict more chaos on ourselves and torch our own human rights framework for NOTHING.
For liars.
Again.

The European Convention on Human Rights is being misrepresented in the UK, says former Supreme Court President Lady Hale👇

“You don’t look sick”.

Chronic illness is often invisible

Many disabilities are invisible

People can look “fine” on the outside and have devastating disease processes inside their body

They can be living in constant pain, fatigue & exhaustion

Don’t judge a book by its cover

So, Reform would rocket-boost austerity, slash welfare *but not taxes*, cancel net zero progress, do mass deportations, huff out of the ECHR (torching the Brexit deal and our human rights)…
And to top it all off, there’d be this gem of US-funded christofascist authoritarianism on offer too.

If you wondered why Nigel Farage turned up in US Congress in September speaking about "freedom of speech", this story has the answer

His appearance was orchestrated by a powerful American anti-abortion group that is trying to increase its influence in the UK by influencing the free speech debate

NEW: How a U.S. anti-abortion group has quietly positioned itself as a powerbroker between the Trump administration and Nigel Farage’s Reform UK.

It is interesting that Jeremy Corbyn has been an MP for 42 years and led the opposition for 5 years.

He's been on Question Time once.

Nigel Farage, 44 times.

Our Media is corrupt, corrupt to the core.

We’re in the middle of a mass disabling event.

Covid isn’t over and Long Covid has surpassed asthma as the most common chronic illness in kids.

Hundreds of kids are in quarantine in South Carolina due to a measles outbreak. Measles disables more than it kills.

All the tear gas & pepper spray?

Jon Kay says some people will say there can't be equivalence between Palestinian convicted criminals & Israelis taken from a music festival or their homes

Well done to Dr Khaled Dawas for explaining Palestinians live under occupation & it is their right to fight that occupation

Another article that fails to talk about COViD being predominantly airborne and just focuses on handwashing only. Also again, no mention of #PostInfectionRisk. This is not a normal situation to be failing to prevent airborne infections.

The idea that kids can’t get or spread Covid was such a terrible lie that has caused an unfathomable amount of illness and suffering
sebajones.bsky.social
A whole generation of kids thrown under the bus. It’s disgusting. We have the tech to help seriously reduce this risk, they could be putting Hepa filters in every school and hospital instead of back to work gurus in GP surgeries.

I just had to report an ad on YouTube for a telescopic dog beating stick for people worried about meeting stray dogs on walks. Wtf Google?
sebajones.bsky.social
This is very sad to read, especially considering how bad reinfections are for people with long covid. A lot of the stigma toward long covid has to be linked to government denial/whitewashing of the dangers. Economy first, people’s health second
sebajones.bsky.social
I did and now I’m too sick to work, had to leave a career that I loved, and still people are acting like this isn’t a thing.
sebajones.bsky.social
Why don’t they want to talk about how Covid has contributed to a huge rise in disability? Long covid is a huge issue, many people are undiagnosed, suffering unexplained health issues, and not getting support. There are millions of sufferers in the UK alone, unable to work or live their lives

Homeless people are not the enemy.

They can’t “just try harder” their way into housing.

It’s the system that’s failing.

Most of us are one emergency away from being homeless ourselves.

We need affordable housing, universal basic income, healthcare & social supports.

We need a safety net

When leaders say "there are more important things to focus on" than the current pandemic, they are saying that there are more important things to focus on than brain injury, organ damage, long term disability in kids, immune dysfunction etc - and that sounds totally absurd if you think about it
