One, AWS means you are subject to US political. They will give your data up.
Two, your minimum US latency is 110ms.
Three, you're also subject to GDPR now.
Four, also Irish data retention laws.

like, from an engineering perspective it is convenient to be able to treat information resources as existing in a flat space where their physical location is abstracted away, but from a governance perspective that is potentially disastrous
