SO much of the cultural and artistic nostalgia that society chases was just art made when people got paid to do it. Lavish movie posters made by human artists, video games made by people without sixteen different investment companies breathing down their neck, movies made by studios taking a chance.

digital media is dying not because it’s a bad way to cover the news or people don’t care about the news but because the people who now own these sites are increasingly 1) uninterested in covering the news as opposed to turning a profit 2) ignorant of what covering the news requires

"In 1943 the National Museum of Ireland received a turnip lantern from a schoolteacher, Rois Ní Braonáin who was teaching near Fintown, Co. Donegal. She stated that it was the type that was always made in that locality around 1900. This plaster-cast model was created and painted by the museum artist, Eileen Barnes.

Candles were placed inside the turnips and they were used to frighten people on the night of 31 October. Recently (last week?) OneDrive nuked an entire folder from my system of its own accord and tying to recover it double super deleted it instead of rolling everything back

It contained all of my personal development projects

It’s very possible to get so enamored of one art style or type of content that you close yourself off to actually being able to enjoy anything else, and I think that’s a bad thing.

If you then use that to motivate shitting on anything that’s not the one thing you love, it’s definitely a bad thing.
