SO much of the cultural and artistic nostalgia that society chases was just art made when people got paid to do it. Lavish movie posters made by human artists, video games made by people without sixteen different investment companies breathing down their neck, movies made by studios taking a chance.

I find it interesting how people are saying that the Greens are “splitting the left vote” and not Labour for their consistent lurches right.
Everyone!!! Listen to the soundtrack from the sold-out show I’m putting on this Halloween!!!

*extremely evil lit professor voice* yeah the Gruffalo is about Mutually Assured Destruction. It’s about MAD. It’s about the Bomb.
The absolute brass balls on them for saying “I’ll fuck around with AI” immediately before saying they feel hard done by because 2000AD has carried on using their work

Agentic AI is an extinction-level threat to online privacy

If your AI "agent" can read your Signal messages, for example, that encryption becomes useless

Fortunately, solutions are relatively simple:

*Developers (ie Signal) should be able to blanket opt-out
*Device should warn users
*User control

digital media is dying not because it’s a bad way to cover the news or people don’t care about the news but because the people who now own these sites are increasingly 1) uninterested in covering the news as opposed to turning a profit 2) ignorant of what covering the news requires
2. Rolling Stone is owned by a large media conglomerate, which is ending remote work across its brands.

My home is Portland, Oregon, ~1,000 miles from the nearest office, so this marks the end of the line for me at RS.

Ghost turnip, Fintown, County Donegal, Ireland, c. 1900 (replica), National Museum of Ireland
Frightening face carved into a turnip to place a candle in

"In 1943 the National Museum of Ireland received a turnip lantern from a schoolteacher, Rois Ní Braonáin who was teaching near Fintown, Co. Donegal. She stated that it was the type that was always made in that locality around 1900. This plaster-cast model was created and painted by the museum artist, Eileen Barnes.

Candles were placed inside the turnips and they were used to frighten people on the night of 31 October. The pumpkin that is prevalent today is an American development of this Irish tradition." https://www.museum.ie/en-IE/Collections-Research/Collection/Top-things-to-see-in-the-Irish-Folklife-Collection/Artefact/Ghost-turnip/b202e8ea-0728-4b3d-b0f1-82660fe45ce9
Like it just targeted a big folder and went POOF
I understand that it’s something to do with my allocated space being overrun, but it basically did it arbitrarily and with no proper notice or notifs
Recently (last week?) OneDrive nuked an entire folder from my system of its own accord and tying to recover it double super deleted it instead of rolling everything back

It contained all of my personal development projects

Seeing a suggestion on here that Nazis can't be punks

Sadly this is not true

There's a whole song about what they should do

Why no general strike?

Please ask how long you are willing to strike from your current job? Are you an at-will employee? How much savings do you currently have?

It’s very possible to get so enamored of one art style or type of content that you close yourself off to actually being able to enjoy anything else, and I think that’s a bad thing.

If you then use that to motivate shitting on anything that’s not the one thing you love, it’s definitely a bad thing.

I love TRON, I stayed home because Boxleitner is out, Leto is nasty, Disney the company is awful and Disney the creative entity is running on fumes. The Grok tie-in branding just confirmed my decision.
Been crying for fifteen minutes over him finding his happy thought
It’s such a fundamental story for the whole thing I’m doing as a creative, like

“Beloved childhood character has become old and forgotten joy” is at least 1/3 of everything I do
