Doctor Who Television Review: Planet of the Ood
Episode: Planet of the Ood Story Number: 191 Series: 4 Screenwriter: Keith Temple Director: Graeme Harper Thoughts: Planet of the Ood is a corrective of sorts, because we are first introduced to the Ood as a race who are naturally servile and only turned evil by Satan himself. On Donna's first interplanetary excursion, it is a time that the Doctor celebrates as one of great achievement by humanity across three galaxies.

Episode: The Fires of Pompeii Story Number: 190 Series: 4 Screenwriter: James Moran Director: Colin Teague Thoughts: Donna's first trip into the past is to Ancient Rome, but unfortunately it's to Pompeii on Volcano Day. Except the volcano isn't going to explode because the rock-like alien Pyrovile are using it's energy as part of a plan to dominate Earth.

Book Review: Four Lost Cities by Annalee Newitz
Author: Annalee Newitz Title: Four Lost Cities Narrator: Chloe Cannon Publication Info: HighBridge Audio, 2021 Summary/Review: In an engaging work of popular history, author Annalee Newitz explores the mysteries of four cities that seemingly disappeared: Çatalhöyük, Pompeii, Angkor, and Cahokia. Newitz's focus however is not how the cities were lost but how they existed. Each section is generally a summary of what is known of the city's history as well as summary of the study of those cities and how early conclusions about those cities have been challenged by more recent research.
