Yeah, like the only moments where debate on opposing viewpoints might have a place is topics without any real data supporting it...

Debate culture is almost tailor made to keep the most fringe, hateful groups in the public discourse.

Debating is good for things like "What do we want to eat" but not politics.

No one can tell me making debate clubs/classes in school & saying "Win, no matter the topic" would create shitheads

Just got a call from a lovely but very nervous Dr, who advised I wouldn't be routinely screened for breast cancer because I'm not indicated as being "biologically female" on the central NHS database and my biology wouldn't indicate I'm at risk.

My records have been altered, which is upsetting.

And even then you need to fucking realize that especially the online sphere is filtering the most vocal people and most are bad faith actors that just want to push things through to make them more comfortable or give them an edge

I mean where I grew up some had the 360, hell it was the first console I bought myself...

But I was VERY much in the minority with that considering I also have a PS3 and yeah nearly everyone else played on that.

Hell in that boarding school more had a PSP then 360 tbh
