You want half a Mr. Pibbs?
My wife is Swedish and I have a lot of slides of her Swedish family in the seventies and I assure you they wore clothes as bright and gaudy as these, only made out of polyester.

On brand for this OR GOP activist to post a picture of herself with someone she met at a Trump event who told her he was Ace Frehley but almost certainly was not.

It’s increasingly hard to justify remaining a member of the TSHA under Bryan’s directorship and I’m mostly doing it for the Southwestern Historical Quarterly at this point. These people actually do not want viewpoint diversity they want mythology.
In 2024, I wrote a story for Texas Monthly about Michelle Haas, whose complaints resulted in the removal of books about slavery from historic Texas slave plantations. Haas sued us, alleging defamation, and was represented by the preferred lawyer of billionaire J.P. Bryan. Today, we won on appeal.
The header of the appeals court decision:

NUMBER 13-25-00005-CV

COURT OF APPEALS

THIRTEENTH DISTRICT OF TEXAS The conclusion of the appeals court decision, which states: The trial court's judgment is reversed. We remand the cause to the trial court with

instructions to (1) grant appellants' TCPA motion to dismiss, (2) award court costs and reasonable attorney's fees to appellants in accordance with the statute, (3) consider whether to assess sanctions against Haas in accordance with the statute. See TEX. Civ. PRAC. & REM. CODE ANN. § 27.009(a).
Well on the plus side I think that undercuts the “just another Fetterman” criticism. (On the minus side, his campaign just careened into a wall and exploded.)

"The Supreme Court has hauled down this flag of liberty in open day, and before all the people.... It will be received with joy by every upholder of caste in the land, and for this I deplore and denounce that decision."

This dwarf Japanese maple was damaged over winter a few years back and I had to pull it up. I’ve had it stashed inside since then and I’ve recently started stripping the bark and carving it.
The kids today can’t appreciate the impact Old Shatterhand had.
Same here, the problem is now that I *am* 41 I don’t feel as adult as I think I should.
Enough Maine voters brought Paul LePage upon themselves by voting for an independent instead of the Dem candidate in a three way race that I can see this kind of dumb thing appealing to them. (Just FYI that independent candidate pleaded guilty to charges of possessing CSAM in 2023.)
The roses aren’t quite as handsome as they are during summer but they’re still blooming.
Once the threat moved from Soviet communism to right-wing authoritarianism we seem to have stopped being motivated to fuck with hostile regimes in the same way. And now we have one here.

Trump on Witkoff: "I call him Henry Kissinger who doesn't leak"
The Mariners are my favorite sports team, I embrace the misery they have brought me with my whole heart, but I cannot watch them in the postseason. I watched the first game, they lost. Tuned in for game 4 when they were up and then they immediately collapsed. I am doing this for them.
True praxis takes the form of an RPG fired at a helicopter hovering over a residential neighborhood, these laser boys simply cannot claim to be the vanguard of the uprising!

So that makes at least 4 J6ers creeping on PDX ICE protests.

Fulfer, David Medina, Katie Daviscourt & Quincey Franklin.

It's been surreal watching them all code switch to calling anti-ICE protestors "insurrectionists" as soon as they realized it was the magic police state button.
Far-right asshole Josh Fulfer, who called for vehicular assaults on Portland protestors, has come up from California & is filming on the ground tonight.

This makes me wonder what Trump thinks heaven is like. The answer might have something to do with him not making the cut.
