Setting aside The Horror for a quick second, what is even the business strategy here?

They are making their stores actively hostile to and unsafe for the guys who go in to make big bulk materials purchases every day
For folks asking if they've made it *inside* a Home Depot yet as the business has clearly just continued letting agents do whatever they want in their lots, the answer is yes. This is from yesterday in Evanston.

Reportedly, a local Menards sheltered people inside and shut their doors to agents during a raid earlier this week.

This is not an advertisement, just an observation.

Big lead for Prop 50 in a new CBS/YouGov poll: 62% yes, 38% no. www.cbsnews.com/news/cbs-new...
Can we discuss that Bannon continuously brought Robert Malone on his show from the beginning of Biden’s presidency? And help promote (& fund/fundraise), anti-vax conspiracy theorist, Naomi Wolf?

Bannon played a giant role in normalizing 1/ Covid was a “bio-weapon fr China”, 2/ vaccines are bad

When historians write the history of the destruction of US public health & health research, I believe this event will be foundational in encapsulating what went wrong

The Great Barrington Declaration meets extreme anti-vaxx activists meets dangerous conspiracy theorists meets wellness grifters, ugh

Meiselas: California Gov. Gavin Newsom just announced he’s deploying the National Guard — to help Californians hurt by Trump’s government shutdown. While Trump uses the Guard to attack Americans, Newsom is sending them to deliver food and support families in need.
FWIW: I’m a Dem committee person here in north Jersey. We’re very frustrated that we just aren’t hearing much from or about Mikie, even though we voted internally to support her. Her lack of personality; her Dem consultant vibe, stiff—is concerning!

I'm quoted in this and will highlight that the conventional wisdom about NJ circa 3 wks ago (Sherill is behind the benchmark and might even be favored to lose) was largely driven by an onslaught of internal/partisan GOP polls. Neutral pollsters have her ahead by 5+ fiftyplusone.news/polls/govern...

Mikie Sherrill is a moderate. She voted against the Dem party on policing in DC. If she underperforms Harris 2024 I think that speaks to the need for The Discourse about the benefits of moderation to include at least cursory acknowledgment of uncertainty, and the implications of that for strategy
Seems like a not great signal. We need to be ruthless about candidate selection.

By @gelliottmorris.com’s estimate, between 1.5 and 2 percent of the population turned out for No Kings on Saturday. That’s pretty damn good. We need to do more but always remember how important it is to dispel any sense that the administration is feared and has things under control.

Trump does not believe in public goods. He views the federal treasury as his private purse; public employees are to be his personal advocates, or they get fired; public property (like the White House) his to do what he wants, even if it means gutting the East Wing without permission./1

The first two posts Mark Zuckerberg’s flagship app chose to show me when I logged in tonight. I don’t follow either account. For context, I’m Jewish. Amazing how sinisterly dark shit has gotten.

I’m 100% for a new populist candidate in areas that have been lost to Ds for a long time. I thought he was really compelling. We need candidates that bring economic populism, correctly identifying the oligarchy in America.

I’m *very* confused abt his answers on Pod Save America & immediately saw 🚩

Noah Smith seems to now believe that accusing Israel of committing genocide in Gaza, something which is now the consensus of all major human rights organizations on the planet as well as the International Association of Genocide Scholars, is comparable to the 2020 election denialism of the GOP.
