No I totally get it. In the US it’s very region depending too. My regional options were between two openly right wing socially conservative sects, so it disillusioned me quickly. Afaik, Wallace Dems (Southern Dems) are a dying breed, so thank fuck on that one

I think this is also a very common experience for those of us who ended up on the libertarian leftist side of the political spectrum. We were attracted to anti-authoritarianism, but realized very quickly right wing libertarians are awful Hitlerites

Eventually, as I saw the libertarian movement become more batshit, and more reactionary.- like it was the early tea party years, I initially broke with the idea and began my exploration of other politics. I would eventually meet "libertarians" at uni who were full throated fascists
