Told my class about the compact that college presidents are considering and they hadn’t heard of it. Makes me think that more faculty might talk about it with students since it would impact the future of their education.

with the shutdown, i want to make sure people know that throughout the states you can call, often text/chat, and search online at 211 to find local active resources — all the way from food to rental, medical/dental, clothing, child care assistance. it’s offered in many languages.

realizing i don't need to bother that much with jlpt levels aside from using them as (flawed) metrics of progress has been freeing, don't see much reason i'd ever need to actually take it. but learning all the jōyō would be a very measurable milestone that would make reading so much easier
