Abbott not only “tolerates” political violence, he encourages it by pardoning the perpetrators when they kill people he doesn’t like www.expressnews.com/news/politic...
Violence and destruction will never be tolerated in Texas," Abbott said in a statement announcing the deployment. “Texas will deter criminal mischief and work with local law enforcement to arrest anyone engaging in acts of violence or damaging property."

Anyone from the AI world who thinks ‘agentic AI will replace journalists’ should read this piece. Anyone who thinks ‘public service journalism is dead’ should read this piece (or revise their understanding of ‘public service’)

Waking up and choosing violence today.

The New York Times is once again running a former friend where the bottom line is “I don’t like RFK but at least he’s trying to help out the parents of children with autism.”

No, he is not

Somehow it's only "demonizing half of the country" when Democrats mildly criticize Trump supporters. This just doesn't count
Leavitt: "The Democrat Party's main constituency is made up of Hamas terrorists, illegal aliens, and violent criminals."

Drives me bananapants that I'm going to end up in an autism camp or whatever for not being properly sad about Charlie Kirk on Bluesky and this chodeload is out there defending Hitler Adults.
Vance on public outrage over the "I love Hitler" group chat: "Grow up! Focus on the real issues. Don't focus on what kids say in group chats... The reality is that kids do stupid things, especially young boys — they tell edgy, offensive jokes. That's what kids do."

The reason they fight so hard, loud, crazy, lying at every opportunity, exaggerating everything until it makes no sense - is that they know if they lose, they’re going to prison. We have to make sure they go there.

Then there's Russ Taylor. "It's just a vehicle. So it's ironic that it would even become a political statement."

(Editor's note: Taylor was plead guilty to conspiracy to obstruct an official proceeding in the January 6 attack. He was later pardoned by Trump.)

Kettle is tool. It irks me that he’s our council member.
At this morning's Seattle budget hearing, CM Bob Kettle and Maritza Rivera want the public to try to understand that when the council takes funds away from the thing they voted for and put it to other purposes, they just need to understand that the money didn't go away, it's just being "shifted."

AOC: You're damn right that it's a Democratic priority to keep people from getting poisoned, from dangerous chemicals

You're damn right that it's a Democratic priority to bring down the cost of housing

If they want to say that that's a Democratic priority, they're right,

Where we stand, in long arc of history:

-Story on left, adding race as a factor when that favors white people.

-Story on right, banning race as a factor when that favors non-whites.

I often complain about NYT headlines and story-play. But these are strong. Including "If Court Guts 1965 Law."
Two headlines on front page of NYT.

First is "Trump Weighs Transforming Refugee Policy. White People Would be Given Preference."

Second is "Justices May Ban Race as a Factor in District Maps. Nation's Political Balance Could Shift If Court Guts 1964 Law."

Johnson: That is not the principles of the Republican Party. You want me to articulate them? We fought the Nazis, we defended that evil ideology.

If you think that professors exist as repositories of knowledge that students ask for answers, you’re missing the entire point of a college education.

We’re here to teach students how to do research, how to analyze and argue, how to think for themselves — how to find the answers on their own.
Wow. Just wow.

"Students pay premium prices for information that AI now delivers instantly and for free. A business student can ask ChatGPT to explain supply chain optimization or generate market analysis in seconds. The traditional lecture-and-test model faces its Blockbuster moment."

If you're the Dems and you were scared of immigration as a topic before, I might try making it an issue now that masked goons are beating the shit out of innocent people in the streets on a daily basis. A lot of people are probably not down with this whatever their views on immigration are
Thanks!
I pledged for Broken Eye Books’ kickstarter for Whether Change, at the “subscription” level (I think I was the only one🙃), so I’ve been receiving their newest books periodically for a bit. These might be the last two! I’ll have to check

and assistance for impacted businesses, support for public art and volunteer clean-up efforts.
• The 2026 Proposed Budget adds $2.1 million and 6 FTE, bringing the total Citywide expenditures
