14 years of methane leaking from Santos’s Darwin LNG plant.

Instead of fixing it, they argued that meeting international standards was too costly.

When major emitters dismiss responsibility as an “intolerable risk” it’s all of us that pay the price instead.

Prospect of net zero an 'intolerable risk' for leaking Santos plant
Santos's Darwin gas plant is set for a new lease of life despite a major methane leak. The company told federal officials the risk it could be forced to meet best practice on carbon emissions was "int...

I think it was in 2020 or 2021, but regardless the LNP and the ALP passed a bill that allowed a Commonwealth minister to deploy the Australian Army if the minister believes it necessary to maintain or restore order.

The photo's of the orange revolution when Ukraine ousted its Russian Empire puppet are relatively simple to explain.

The poor history professors trying to unpack and explain the USA's Plushy protests; and the 47th's administration's inevitable persecution of Furries .....

Know where it comes from to better understand where it's heading.
4 frame narrative comic. in the first frame the logo of America First; in the second frame, Lindbergh speaking from a podium; in the third, Viereck, nazi agent who conspired with congresspeople; in the fourth, Far-right leader McCarthy at his desk. Text reads : Before being Trump's favourite
slogan, the A.F. movement was
a far-right group dedicated to
opposing u.s. involvement in
wwII, spreading disinformation
and promoting fascism in the
U.S., active in the 40s.
at its peak, it counted more than
800 000 members in 450 chapters.

They organized massive rallies
and conferences that featured
prominent far-right figures such
as henry ford and charles
lindbergh, but also known nazi
agents.
many congresspeople were
known "Firsters". several of
them were charged with sedition
for spreading nazi propaganda,
stockpiling weapons and con-
spiring to install a fascist
regime in the U.S.. The court
ruled a mistrial
after the sudden
death of the judge.
a.f. dissolved when the U.S. joined
the war, but its main actors kept
plotting with the nazis to be in-
stalled into power in the event
that Germany won.
After the war, they supported
mccarthysm and organized new
far-right groups and political
parties.

Another day, another new pure electric offering for New Zealand.
This is the Leapmotor B10. It starts at $42,990 and has a fair amount of gadgetry. Just took this one for a drive and first impressions are positive. Quick video overview will be live this weekend. 😎

I wonder safe how the world would be if we replaced Limited Liability for corporate shareholders and effective immunity for corporate boards and executives with "An Eye For An Eye"?

The amount of CO2 in the atmosphere increased by a record amount last year, says @wmo-global.bsky.social.

The record annual rise comes amid growing signs that forests, peatlands, oceans and other natural "sinks" are failing to absorb as much CO2 as they normally do.

Moffat has a canon explanation that had to be cut from the 50th. After Barbara and Ian returned to earth they’d lost their jobs and needed money. They sold their story to a film company who made a family friendly pair of movies about it.

The reason the Doctor keeps fighting for the universe is because Ian stopped him killing the unconscious Za in An Unearthly Child. The Doctor realised that a primitive like Ian had a stronger moral compas than he did, abs was ashamed. It's also why the Dictor feels such an affinity for Earth.

Expecting character development for the Doctor is daft. That's not what he's for, it's what the companions are for. Also, the Doctor and the companions should be as weird and alien as possible. Because if drama should "teach", that teaches EVERYONE to care about people that are nothing like them.

Alastair Beckett King mentioned this in his sketch but it does annoy me and makes for a boring show.

I want a return to classic Doctor Who where nobody had time to fall in love with The Doctor because they're busy being pissed off about being kidnapped and having to run away from EVERYONE and EVERYTHING because they're all trying to murder them in a multitude of inventively ghastly ways.

Peter Capaldi should show up in every new season. Not as the Doctor. Always as a different supporting character who ends up meeting an untimely demise at alien hands.

As Missy said, we’re pets to them. It should never be romantic or physical. Then retconning Sarah’s relationship as romantic just demeaned her to a pining girlie.

I don't know if this is an unhinged opinion in itself but the way fans seem to have collectively decided that the entire second RTD era had absolutely no merit at all just because the finale was dreadful strikes me as somewhat unhinged.

Clara Oswald and the Impossible Girl plotline was worse than anything Chibnall did.

People who say Tennant was their favourite Doctor don't actually like Doctor Who, they just like David Tennant.

Martha > Rose. Rose's best quality was her mother (and the fact that Billie Piper is amazing).
