Republicans lose cities by massive margins and their response is to defund the cities

Democrats lose rural areas by massive margins and their response is to increase rural funding
sjshancoxli.liberalcurrents.com
by my count there are four vague proposals offered: national service, investing in rural communities, reform the supreme court, repeal citizens' united via constitutional amendment

one of these is profoundly important. the other three are memes.

Hakeem Jeffries posted pictures of two Rep. Members posing with “Young Republicans” who were part of a racist text thread (as reported by Politico).

In response, Mike Davis (well-connected in Trump World & on the Hill) called Jeffries a “house slave” for George Soros - proving Jeffries’ point.

It's funny bc you don't even need to be a religious person or know anything about religion really to know that "we're saving God" isn't a thing.

I am not a religious person and I am swiftly tiring of having to care so much, and know so much, about the Bizarro World version of Christianity that the MAGA cult practices.

Just fucking read the Bible. Once! Without using some megachurch scammer's For Dummies notes!

This judges blocked previous RIFs, only to be overturned by SOCTUS with a non-opinion, so lets see what happens.
But it is ridiculous to say the case should go to the MSPB when Trump has fired Dem members of the MPSB. Its a kangaroo court now.
www.govexec.com/management/2...
The layoffs, the judge said, are taking a “human toll that cannot be tolerated.”

Hedges, the Justice attorney, argued the plaintiffs must take their case to the Merit System Protection Board or the Federal Labor Relations Authority. She also said it was not the appropriate timing for the lawsuit, as agencies have not yet decided where or whether to implement layoffs.

Federal Judge blocks shutdown layoffs.

DOJ lawyer refuses to defend cuts, merely argues jurisdiction.

Judge: “This hatchet is falling on the heads of employees all across the nation, and you're not even prepared to address whether that's legal?”
donmoynihan.substack.com/p/the-shutdo...
UPDATE: A federal Judge has imposed a temporary block on RIFs during the shutdown, saying the Trump administration has:

taken advantage of the lapse in government spending, in government functioning, to to assume that that all bets are off, that the laws don’t apply to them anymore and that they can impose the structures that they like on a government situation that they don’t like. And I believe that the plaintiffs will demonstrate ultimately that what’s being done here is both illegal and is in excess of authority.

I work at Fox News because its critical that Americans hear opposing viewpoints about the critical issues in our public discourse.

Right now, Trump voters are having buyer's remorse.

Approval ratings are down. Constituents are fed up. It's just the beginning.

All of this to avoid giving drugs to the “wrong” people.

This is just going to reinforce bias over and over, meaning white men will be adjudged worthy and the rest of us will have to hear all about the “objective” machine.

Facial expressions common to all humans! 🙃
PainChek is one of these behavioral models, and it acts like a camera‑based thermometer, but for pain: A care worker opens the app and holds a phone 30 centimeters from a person’s face. For three seconds, a neural network looks for nine particular microscopic movements—upper‑lip raise, brow pinch, cheek tension, and so on—that research has linked most strongly to pain. Then the screen flashes a score of 0 to 42. “There’s a catalogue of ‘action‑unit codes’—facial expressions common to all humans. Nine of those are associated with pain,” explains Kreshnik Hoti, a senior research scientist with PainChek and a co-inventor of the device. This system is built directly on the foundation of FACS. After the scan, the app walks the user through a yes‑or‑no checklist of other signs, like groaning, “guarding,” and sleep disruption, and stores the result on a cloud dashboard that can show trends.

The mechanism through which Trump is paying the troops is the most blatant large Antideficiency Act (ADA) violation in US history. It's also clearly willful. No one has been charged under the ADA before, but violations carry a two-year jail term. The statute of limitations is five years.

It makes a lot of sense workers are scared to go to work. You can't attack immigrants w/o destabilizing everything in Chicago.
ICE activity putting stress on Chicago's building managers, who warn rents could rise
Frightened by federal agents, some tenants can't pay rent on time after missing work, while maintenance staff aren't showing up to job sites. Property owners and managers worry continued ICE activity ...

ICE arrested comedian Robby Roadsteamer for singing a parody of Rod Stewart’s “Do Ya Think I’m Sexy” in a Jeffrey Epstein the Giraffe costume outside their facility.

He sings “If you hate brown people / and you are a Nazi” and ICE thugs grab him and drag him into detention. No violence—just speech.
