Reminder that Gen-X gave the world Ted Cruz and Louis C.K., so we have *nothing* to brag about.

Also: Although it was made by Boomers, it was *our* generation that made “We Built This City” by Starship (hands-down the WORST song in pop-music history) a massive hit.

Platner is not a victim of opposition research. This is what happens when you run for federal office. People scrutinize everything you’ve ever done. Every word and every action. Accountability does not exist in playing the victim of your own behavior.

Platner’s actions are an embarrassment to our state on the national stage. He has no qualification whatsoever to run for this seat and a US Senate race is not the place to grow up.

I resigned from the campaign when his comments blaming women for their own sexual assault were brought to light by the Washington Post. Comments he made when he was a 29 year-old bartender. That was a hard line for me.

There has never been a time where seemingly thousands of people have disappeared and the explanation didn’t involve horrific crimes against humanity. This won’t be, either.

Eric is a Missouri congressman.

He is quite literally dependent on the federal government for his paycheck, his housing, and his free healthcare. He’s a tax recipient.

I currently live in the school district that banned the "Everyone is Welcome" sign, by the way. This is a real, legitimate concern I have & I worry about it damn near every day.

And frankly, even if my kids are all heterosexual, any "weirdness" here is bullied. I've got two kids on the spectrum!
One key detail here that might be subtle: families can have queer kids. I don't know yet if any of my kids are queer. But if I end up having a gay son, or a transgender daughter, or whatever -- where is the safest, best place for them?

It's a city. I cannot provide that right now with costs.
I haven't seen the thread others are talking about but need to reiterate one of my strongest stances:

If YIMBY is only focused on renters and households of 1-2 people, it will fail. It needs to make things better for those who want to buy homes, for those who have 3, 4, 5 kids, etc. Must be broad.

Trump still holding onto his rage at losing 'bigly' in Scottish courts when he tried to claim, under oath to Holyrood that "windmills cause cancers". Why? He didn't want them off shore near his golf course.
As someone who has 'used the facilities' at a Trump bunker, they don't affect the view.

In the last three months, we've had two new "centrist" think tanks and a propaganda outlet (The Argument), and the Third Way advocating abandoning minorities to win fascism, or something.

Y'all's consent is being manufactured right before your eyes.
They're openly saying they want to sacrifice LGBTQ people and the planet to appease fascists. This is not only a losing strategy, this is morally repugnant.

Every single one of these people should be ashamed, but we know they won't because they are amoral sociopaths.

so ethnic and racial minorities have a negative view of labour and so does the trans community.

curious about the wider lgbt+ community and the disabled community.

anyway labour have pretty much told minorities to get fucked.

journalists can't be out here doing this, especially ones with years of health reporting experience
Disappointed to see the lack of evidence on a Tylenol/autism link described this way—and by a reporter who normally does good health coverage. There is no causal evidence here, and any story on the subject should make that fact clear. www.texastribune.org/2025/10/28/t...

One: "abhorrent”

Another: "Using Halo imagery in a call to ‘destroy’ people because of their immigration status goes way too far, and ought to offend every Halo fan, regardless of political orientation”
