It's not a good time to be the socialist parent of a disabled trans person, tbh.

Following the trans action in Brighton last night in protest of the deeply transphobic FiLiA organisation, I encourage everyone to watch this video (originally created for BBC) where Julie Bindel and other ‘gender critical’ transphobes admit to violence and arson!

Bindel is a hypocrite!

Woah! So Labour's position really is, 'telling us off for breaching human rights undermines the case for human rights'? Proper Trumpian stuff from Labour's answer to Suella Braverman.

Immigrants having to have Level 3 (A level equivalent) English would mean they have a higher standard than a lot of Brits, and certainly way higher than the people who hate them the most.

That's a shame. No worries.

Are the T shirts still available? Mine* is now very faded and I'd like to replace it.

*(Late Beloved's - the first Moose T shirt I bought him).

Some changes to immigration rules today, not just increasing English language requirements, mean migrants looking to live and work in UK will have to meet far far higher standards than British nationals, while paying vast sums to be allowed to do so. That isn't a system based on "fairness". 1/

If you agree that mandatory digital ID cards are a terrible idea, please ask your MP to sign my motion opposing them.

These plans risk turning us into checkpoint Britain. They must be scrapped.

“Beyond privacy concerns, being forced to disclose sex assigned at birth may also significantly increase people’s vulnerability to harassment, abuse and even violence…”

The British government has pursued the erosion of trans rights. Letting people use spaces that align to their identity is basic.

The Spectator (owned by GBNews owner Paul Marshall - estimated wealth of £800 million) doesn’t like taxing wealth fairly.

I wonder how they got to this editorial decision?

Let’s tax wealth fairly, fund front line services & make hope normal again.

Palestinians were subjected to rape, beatings, lack of food & water etc. the 1st batch of Israeli 'hostages' were all in good physical condition & attested to the fact that they were not abused. More recent releases look a bit more haggard due to Israel's withholding of supplies to Gaza.

Who could have guessed that demonising trans people would impact on their rights?

The moral panic was never about 'legitimate concerns' or protecting women or children, it was always about vilification, oppression and the mainstreaming of reactionary politics

The EHRC code must be scrapped.

Our Head of Policy, Jess O'Thomson, says that in light of this significant intervention, the Code of Practice cannot be laid as drafted. The Minister must reject it.

Exclusion of trans people from services for their lived gender must be the exception, not the rule.
"This significant intervention from the Commissioner makes clear that the EHRC's new Code of Practice cannot be laid as drafted. The minister must reject it and insist the EHRC try again - making clear how to include trans people, not just exclude.

Exclusion of trans people from services for their lived gender, the letter makes clear, must be the exception - not the rule."

I handed a physical copy of my EHRC submission to my MP's office, followed up with an email a month later, complete silence. I guess that confirms their position.

Quite a bodying, here, for the UK, from the Commissioner for Human Rights, Council of Europe.

🏮 He points out the Supreme Court ignored human rights (which breaches its legal obligations)
🏮 He says, in effect agreeing with Lucy Powell, Parliament should be involved...

This sequence of posts sums it up, really. Men are the problem - cis men, who don’t need to change anything about themselves to do harm - but trans people are the scapegoat because tackling men would require a total dismantling of societal structure.

In response to my contacting mine, I was sent a copy of a letter from the Minister for Equalities, which although it was big on "dignity and respect" offered no reassurance that this government intends to do anything trans-positive.

We have a government of outright transphobes and cowards.
