THREAD: This week, Tucker Carlson hosted one of the most dangerous antisemites in America. Nick Fuentes leads the “Groyper” movement, a large online hate network devoted to building a white Christian nationalist America.

It marks a serious escalation in how antisemitism reaches the mainstream.

So... Sen. Maggie Hassan (D-N.H.) asked the 4 nominees in this hearing a simple question -- if Trump directed you to break the law, would you follow the law or follow the president's directive? -- and not one could just say they'd follow the law.

I’m sorry, if someone has a birth certificate that proves they were born here but a mobile app with face recognition software disagrees, they will side with the app?

What?
New incredible detail here: ICE says a match in its facial recognition app Mobile Fortify is a "definitive" determination of a person's status, and that this overrides birth certificates. This is an app ICE is using in the field to scan people

Your now-mandatory reminder that Republicans in Congress are just fine with this
Breaking news: The DOJ placed two federal prosecutors on leave after they filed a document in court that referred to the Jan. 6. attack on the U.S. Capitol as a “riot” carried out by a “mob,” two people familiar with the matter said.

Remember, Taranto turned up with guns at Obama's house a few hours after Trump posted Obama's address on his Truth Social account. Taranto reposted the Trump post with the address so we know he saw it.

NOTABLE: The judge says the indictment sEssayli presided over are not dismissed bc they were signed by other lawfully appointed prosecutors. That reasoning, if adopted in other courts, bodes poorly for Lindsey Halligan, who was the only person to sign Comey/James indictments.

Considering how hard they are working to keep the Epstein files locked up, there must be some really horrible stuff in them.

The Senate is still meeting and holding votes as normal despite the shutdown.

The House has not held a vote in a month and a half now solely because Mike Johnson wants to prevent the release of the Epstein Files.

They've killed our government to save their pedophiles.
A quick reminder that the House is not in session because Speaker Johnson CANCELED it, not because of the current shutdown.

It's an insidious rhetorical sleight of hand to use "critics say" framing to critique the subject but never to mention who the critics are or what their agenda is. Peters does it three times in this article alone:

Today was a hard day. Regulations that we passed unanimously last year, after 7 years of advocacy, were largely gutted. The FCC capitulated to the correctional telecom industry in roughly doubling rate caps for prison and jail calls. I'm truly sorry.
