I used to hate the phrase "food insecurity." Do people have enough food? No? Then they're hungry. Maybe starving. Don't dress it up.

Except now, with no food stamps, I'm rationing even though there's food in the house because there might not be more. This is food insecurity. It *is* different.

Granted, I got some good news today, and had to do some brain work on that topic. But mostly it's just that you can't break something if you don't know what it is.

The scene, roughly: Cass and her crew go in magic-ablazin' and wreck the bad guys - but not before They do some damage to Elliot.

#FirstDraftFall No actual words today. I'm hunting for the twist in the next scene, and it's just not showing up. I need to put some effort into what makes my magic system work, so I can break it a little.

That said, my next scene is...ambitious.
