Drank a bottle of this potion and now have power over all gravies!
A small brown bottle with a yellow label, reading Gravy Master.

I wrote a lovely poem about the good old days, to go with the nice pink one off Facebook that's quoted below.
The Good Old Days

Tuberculosis, ricketts
Polio and smog
He kicked the wife for five days
On weekends kicked the dog
The choir boys were fiddled with
The priest put round the plate
And then those lads went off to war
And mental health was great.
My gran made broth with only bone
She couldn't afford cheese
And several of her kids died
From preventable disease
Wasn't allowed a bank account
Couldn't get a job
Tuberculosis, ricketts
Polio and smog.

This detail amused me because I had an English teacher who told us that if you shove an opened wine bottle up your arse neck first, you have to break the bottom of it to pull it out, or it forms a vacuum and yanks your guts out with it. But this was public school in the 1980s, so…
A teacher has been struck off after she allegedly told pupils about the dangers of sex toys and rectal bleeding during a lesson on Charles Dicken's classic A Christmas Carol.

Long story short, an actual Nazi doxxing ring. Enough people reported them that they went away for like 12 hours and then Elon personally brought them back. The site is dead. If you’re still on there, go lock your account right now

Spooks on the BBC: “We have to climb onto the roof, through a skylight and plug this thumb drive into the Chinese server.”

Spooks on Chinese TV: “We’ve just bought the British data centre. Job done.”

It's gonna be bitterly amusing when these dudes decide that it's time to go down into the bunker and their security people are already in there with their families, looking out through the little window and laughing

"I once met a former bodyguard of one billionaire with his own "bunker", who told me his security team's first priority, if this really did happen, would be to eliminate said boss and get in the bunker themselves. And he didn't seem to be joking."
Tech billionaires seem to be doom prepping. Should we be worried?
The debate is ramping up about what happens if - or when - computer intelligence overtakes humans

City streets, a winepress, pulleys, spinning tops, a ray fish, curdled milk: some of the images used by anatomist Andreas Vesalius (who died #onthisday in 1564) to explain the workings of the human body. Marri Lynn explores: https://publicdomainreview.org/essay/vesalius-and-the-body-metaphor #OTD

My response when my wife asks me what last-minute preparations need to be made for my 50th birthday party.
‘More rice, bigger chairs and reinforced toilets.’ Headline for imminent sumo basho in London.

What could possibly go wrong. For women. When men create fictional situations that result in our eventual rape, kidnap and murder because they got to play out all of their creative fantasies until they thought it was real
