No doubt at least in part because they’ve been failed by the system and are disillusioned and struggling. Farage taps into that, but as a snake oil salesman convincing them he‘s not a major reason why.

When I see announcements like this, I have to ask - how many of the people out there who are so vehemently anti-migrant would actually pass English at an A-Level standard?
Migrants will need A-level standard English to work in UK

It really feels like Sam Altman promised a lot of Very Serious Old People he was going to create capitalist blowjob jesus based off a tech demo, and now that the bottom’s falling out he’s throwing whatever he can think of at the wall to avoid getting disappeared because he wasted all their money.

Poor Tommy Robinson. What possible reason could the border police have had for stopping a known criminal who is being investigated by HMRC from taking £13,000 in cash abroad while driving a Bentley that wasn’t his and refusing to answer their questions? It’s an outrage!

This has gone down *badly* with some in govt, amid push to reform the ECHR from the inside.
Shabana Mahmood especially is said to take a
"dim view" of arguments made and her allies say issue of trans rights after the Supreme Court's judgement is "beyond reproach".
Govt source says "it doesn't help sustain public confidence in the European Convention when the Council is seen to intervene in domestic politics and national security".

The Spectator (owned by GBNews owner Paul Marshall - estimated wealth of £800 million) doesn’t like taxing wealth fairly.

I wonder how they got to this editorial decision?

Let’s tax wealth fairly, fund front line services & make hope normal again.

To all you patriots (and UK authorities)

Is this not political interference of the most egregious and socially divisive kind?

Absolutely loving that Zack has receipts for Farage’s shady connections. The next scandal ready to make common knowledge as they flail to address the last. It’s a level of scrutiny Farage isn’t used to, nor one that he is able to handle with any grace.

watching the UKs green party elect an actual unafraid leftist into leadership and see party membership double in under a month is once again endless proof that if you stand up for leftist causes and treat the electorate like adults, you’ll win people over easily

You could have spoken about it anytime Wes if your priority was the people and not the party line.

I’m glad we can now talk about Brexit damage, says Wes Streeting

The Prime Minister is gearing up to blame Nigel Farage and Brexit for Britain’s expected downturn in productivity at the November Budget

In Britain specifically, “Prime Minister Boris Johnson” was the moment it was made very clear that everyone was lying and the whole system is a fraud, and what followed is not better, but somehow even worse. All of this stuff is also very bad, but right there is the core issue.

I bang on about this a lot: I think the combination of a global pandemic, underregulated internet/SM, collapse/ corruption of trustworthy media, plus now unregulated genAl, is a wildly toxic environment for radicalisation & mental health. We see the results of that in our politics & lives every day

These 2 speeches, which, as Nick points out, on the same day, precede what Gill has pled guilty to by 4 years, are more damning for Farage as they also precede Brexit.

All European secret services would have been alarmed by this & would/should have been investigating.

Why do people want to be held hostage by the failing two party system forever? Neither side represents you or has any interest in making your lives better. Reject them.

This entire party is just one prick, bankrolled by Russia, to spout pure drivel that erodes our democracy. Utterly depressing he‘s been able to come this far.

Nigel Farage says Reform UK will “differ from status quo” in Wales but it’s too early to tell you how.

It’s a re-run of their local elections.

Reform run councils have found little savings and are considering raising taxes the max they can…

Glad to see Nigel Farage has finally remembered Nathan Gill, former leader of Reform in Wales - found guilty of taking bribes from Russia.

Maybe he'll now remember how much he took from Putin's propaganda broadcaster Russia Today for all his TV appearances when he was a MEP?

None of us are safe in a world where basic norms in respect of the sanctity of human life are blithely disregarded. Those norms must be enforced, and enforced visibly. There must be political and legal consequences for every politician who made the genocide possible. The alternative is unthinkable.

They’ve been calling a significant section of the public unBritish hatemongers. They’ve been telling everyone who objects to their horrible politics to fuck off, for years. It’s not that mild-mannered is it, and that’s before we get to the Enoch Powell speech.
Is Labour just mild-mannered Faragism?

Oh dear that failed spectacularly as the BBC arranged an all-right-wing panel to challenge Green leader Zack Polanski on Question Time last night. But he schooled them all. And it was a perfect example of how to cut through establishment propaganda with clarity and compassion.
Zack Polanski schooling a right-wing BBCQT panel was a brilliant lesson in how to beat propaganda
