We need to talk about how social media algorithms push moms down a slippery slope of distrust.

From "Are my kids getting enough support in school?" To "Maybe I should homeschool." To "Maybe modern medicine is bad."

I've seen this first-hand in research I'm doing on parenting apps. 1/🧵
This gets at the heart of what teachers need to cultivate - the recognition that the thinking process is the point. #bkyedu #eduai
I think this is a key thing between early AI adopters and creatives — whether or not you view the process happening in your brain as the whole point, or whether you think the computer is making boring or “hard” things faster so you can do something else

Agreed! And it's notable that the CEO chose to invest 2 billion in the company to train existing employees and cover other costs associated with the transformation; envisioning long term rewards rather than a focus on quick returns.

America is currently a giant experiment to see how long we can keep stuffing a year's worth of news and outrage into every single day before everyone's heads explode

Watching Jay, I realize I am simply exhausted by folks in positions of leadership who are driven to distraction by critique.

If you can't function with critique and pushback, a leadership position is not for you.

Leadership REQUIRES you to absorb and process the critique of stakeholders.

A troubling development. The IB is not a perfect programne but one of its main missions is to help students ethically navigate an interconnected world. Global citizens are a weapon against authoritarian govts. What other dictatorships will follow Russia's lead? #intled
I spent a summer in China teaching 'American teaching methods' which were often defined by the underpinnings of democracy - I was always curious about that choice. This - this makes more sense to me - www.nytimes.com/2025/09/22/w...

The #USPS is holding a vote to choose a stamp to reissue, and one of them is the “Emancipation Proclamation” stamp. Wouldn’t it be great if that one won by a landslide?

Hi Internet! I'm Drew and THIS IS MY FACE.

If this GIF has ever brought you joy in the past, I humbly ask you to consider making a donation to the National MS Society. It would mean a lot to me and to those I know affected by the disease!

Remember: If we allow ourselves to fall into fatalism, or wallow in disappointment, or become resigned to what is rather than what should be, we will lose the long game.

The greatest enemy of positive social change is cynicism about what can be changed.

In the 2010s, this country's elites were thrown onto social platforms with everyone else and could finally read what we all think about them and it caused them so much psychic damage that they decided to destroy both the internet and democracy to make sure nothing like it ever happened again.
If this is what it took for you to be pushed into fascism you were probably already there

Luckily, Sinclair has a helpful database of all their stations, so you can see if they're operating in your area and respond accordingly.

Republicans are trying to redraw congressional district lines to keep their grip on Congress in the midterms and beyond.

Voters should pick their politicians, not the other way around.

Now this is a journalist who deserves respect.
This is actually extremely valid. Even third rate thinking is better than no thinking at all. The question is- how do we design tasks that invite students to think? To be intrigued by the process instead of the product? #bskyeducation
This sounds like a bit but I’m being serious: kids using chat gpt for their homework are denying themselves the invaluable experience of learning how to bullshit their way through a problem. You drink some caffeine the night before and figure it the fuck out. That’s a skill. You need it in life.

schools should teach kids about stuff that happened in the past so we don’t repeat mistakes. maybe call it pastory
Several years ago I attended a tech-ed conference that brought up the issue of pornography as a stand in for sex ed. Many kids are learning about sex from porn. This means that as educators we need to be brave enough to talk about it. Glad to see that crash course is being brave enough:
Let’s be honest: if you’ve been on the internet, you’ve probably seen porn. Whether you went looking for it, a friend shoved a video under your nose, or you got a sketchy DM, it’s hard not to come across porn in our extremely online world. So what do we do with that? youtu.be/HvaUdCTMkkk
