This makes it really easy to let your local MP know you want them to stand up for Palestine. Let’s show our government what we really want them to stand for!

You can sign an open letter to your MP about the genocide in Gaza from here:

I'm hoping to get my side of the task list done this evening... but in the meantime - who would like to get first dibs on the Bird and Beach 2026 Calendar?

Elisabeth apologises that the new website isn't live yet... she's still working on her task list.

In the meantime, if you want to get your hands on one of our 2026 Calendars, Ryan has thoughtfully listed a few on Felt.

Montage of samples pages of the Bird and Beach 2026 Calendar. Shown is the front cover (Oriental Bay), back cover (12 thumbnails of landscape illustrations), May (Lake Wakatipu) and December (Rangitoto Island).

Aside from the fact that Chris Bishop is a pile of malevolent dung in a suit, I refuse to have three white men called Chris in a row as PM, it's absolutely intolerable #nzpol

Ironically, to go to this appointment I took time out from writing about how quacks often appealed to women because doctors characterised them as credulous & vulnerable to the power of suggestion & dismissed their symptoms as "functional illnesses" (i.e., hysterical/psychosomatic)...Aarrrgghh!!!

I am reminded that actually I am in a good position to comment on executive pay at charities and incorporated societies . . .

A good exec accepts a pay package that puts the org in a safe budget position and never draws more than market because that would harm the work of the org.

This stinks more than a soggy gumboot , King's execs get 527k which is what some other charities run on per year if they haven't been cut altogether by this cretinus gov..

Yeah absolutely. It’s hard enough as it is without people breaking the trust

That’s true, he made he clear he’s not the doctor for you! I hope you find some better care soon
captcaffiend.bsky.social
Yep, he’s making a mockery of charities

Even saying "two executives" appears to be generous. It's 1.32FTE so it's one executive (King) and a part-timer doing about 1.5 days a week.

Also useful to note that the money they spend on actual counselling has gone down despite their revenue increasing, which is explained by greater efficiency.

If a charity that offers a counselling service has more money, then surely, they ought to be investing in expanding their counselling?

Just want to reiterate the fact that Substack has a massive Nazi problem, and most of us willing to pay to follow a writer there would definitely be willing to follow them to another platform and pay there.

It’s time, beyond time, really, I’m leaving Substack. I didn’t do it before because I had no other income to rely on. I don’t think abandoning spaces is always the right answer but sometimes it’s necessary www.patreon.com/posts/why-i-...

No Buy Thursdays is an effective way to support the Palestinian people

It’s simple - just organise your life so that you don’t make any monetary transactions on a Thursday

The more people who take part, the more effective the plan

Please share widely

#NZPol
🇵🇸
No Buy Thursdays - this Thursday and every Thursday!

Take action to support Pa/estine by:
Not shopping on Thursdays
Paying any due bills before or after Thursday
Filling up your car or topping up your bus card on any other day
If you can - make Thursday your work from home day
Any other suggestions? Please make them in the comments section

Spread the word - if we keep this up over time it will show in financial statistics, and if our leaders notice the change in spending habits they will sit up and take notice. Because, as they say, money talks
