In my admittedly limited experience, octopus tastes better than squid, but I’ve decided that I’m not comfortable eating octopus, but will still eat squid.
Apple I picked off the tree in my grandparents’ yard when I was 12.
Minneapolis folks, anybody know of a cheap room to rent? I had someone reach out to me looking for something by November 1.
Makes the surreptitious alt tab a lot less surreptitious.

Happy raid on Harper's ferry day!!!

I think a good way to deal with current politics is to simply ask oneself, what would John brown do?
Resurrect John brown and give him a battlemech
There's a squirrel in my neighborhood with just a stub of a tail so it kinda looks like a weird rabbit. Don't usually see rabbits carrying walnuts around in their mouths, tho.
Hey Siri—what's the German word for the complex emotion I'm feeling right now?
Truly astounding. Whole product philosophy books could be written on this
"All the data that we see is when people use voice, they love it," says Mehdi.
Some of that data is the billions of minutes that people spend talking in Microsoft Teams meetings.
Dammit.

You know the Politco article about the Young Republicans praising Hitler and spewing hate speech?

They redacted every slur except the R word.

That tells you everything you need to know about how pervasive ableism is.

No social justice without disability justice.

Today for @theverge.com, I talk about transfem narratives: the epistemic lockout from mainstream publishing, the advantages and pitfalls of the self-pub model, and what a global transmisogynistic panic implies for our ability to make our voices heard and represent our own lives and worlds.
Trans women are building their own publishing world, and it’s under threat
Online communities are stepping in where traditional publishing stops.

I now have "Women don't like the vehicle" looping in my brain in Werner Herzog's voice.
"women don't like the vehicle" is going to be lodged in my brain's neocortex for the rest of my natural life www.wired.com/story/owning...
Q: And are you married?
A: I was married, but I’m not married anymore. Women don't like the vehicle.

Talking with a friend about country living, but not sure if I ever shared this one here. Several years ago, heard a hoarse weird sound in the yard and got to it before the feral cats could make a meal.
A teeny sweet baby possum that is slightly bigger than a mouse that ran up to me and wanted to be held before I found his mama and her pouch before the feral cats found it.
Oh em gee, that ending.
It’s time for Pokey Ponies.

I just checked. There were no screws under Opal.
I always check under whichever cat is helping me (usually, but not always Opal).
Ah yes, the three genders.

A fun thing about me is that I do use alarms, but aside from the one that wakes me up, they are almost entirely superfluous because either my internal clock is already keeping track of important things or I'm going to ignore the alarm anyway.
