Cat Food Letterbox Day is the best thing I've ever done. Librarian, awful lefty liberal, booming soprano. Council estate and proud.

A friend has just pointed out that it's NINE years, not eight. Fucking hell.

Happy Cat Food Letterbox Day! #eightyears #neverforget #catfoodletterboxday
Screenshot saying: Today my friend asked me to nip round hers and put some dried cat food through the letter box as they're away and were worried they forgot to set the auto-timer-feeding contraption and the cats would be hungry. So I bought some Go Cat (herring and salmon with extra vegetables), went round and started flinging bits through the letter box. The door opened. I'D GOT THE WRONG HOUSE.

It's my birthday! The Chap made me breakfast in bed, Tabby The Random Cat came in for cuddles, and later we're off to That London for dinner at Mildred's, followed by a play at Soho Theatre. I'm a very happy 48 year old.

If anyone needs me I will be in the museum, lying down next to the bog bodies.
Did people really memorize phone numbers before cell phones, or is that just a movie thing?
2? Questions
I was watching some old shows from the 90s and noticed people would just dial numbers from memory - like they'd call their friends or family without looking anything up.
Made me wonder if that was actually normal back then? Did people genuinely have all their important numbers memorized, or did most folks keep a little address book or written list nearby?

Thanks! Breakfast in bed, then dinner and a show in That London tonight 😍

There is something to be said for having a boyfriend who did most of the parenting alone for years. He makes excellent packed lunches, and I am reaping that reward.

We got up early to go to a car boot sale our friend was doing. I haven't been to one in decades. I can confirm they are just as shit as I remember and not worth getting up early on a Sunday for.

Macron remarks are notable- some quotes: "We have been incredibly naive in entrusting our democratic space to social networks that are controlled either by large American entrepreneurs or large Chinese companies, whose interests are not at all the survival or proper functioning of our democracies."

We have been incredibly naive in entrusting our democratic space to social networks.”

On Yom Kippur many Jewish people in Britain have their phones off to mark the holy day.

As it ends at 723pm, some will hear the tragic Manchester news for the first time.

At that time, please join many of us to send a message of solidarity to British Jews. Thanks Together coalition for proposing.
To everyone in Britain's Jewish Community: you are not alone.

We will not let hate or those who spread it win.

We stand with you.

Friends, send me all the Badass Librarian vibes you can spare today, as I attempt to get the enquiry inbox to fewer than 20 To Be Dealt with enquiries for the first time since a) becoming the only member of staff; b) breaking my leg; and c) losing my dad.

Could this digital whiteboard have been a document? Could this document have been an email? Could this email have been a DM? Could this DM have been the slowly fading memory of a lover's lips on yours, in an endless summer's evening in 20011... 🌄🌳🌷

good video hands-on with meta's smart glasses. i've been skeptical on smart glasses for a while, but it looks like the hardware side of this is finally becoming feasible? plus, in a world where kids list "creator" as their dream job, POV video recording is v attractive youtu.be/5cVGKvl7Oek?...
