My expectation that people can be better than endorsing slavery, Hitler, and rape is what makes me an implacable pessimist in the eyes of our mainstream media. His belief that we cannot expect any better from white people is seen as the reasonable and fair proposition.

They are of course wrong. Understanding how race works in something like, voting, doesn't mean you *must* discriminate against one group or another. But Gorsuch and Brett can't see it that way. Because when *they* "use" race, it's always to discriminate.
