Earlier this week I met with a spokesperson for the PWHL Charge who informed me about the league's significant concerns with the diminished seating capacity of the Event Centre in Lansdowne 2.0. An important story to the Lansdowne debate that must be considered. www.cbc.ca/news/canada/...

Really? This is the guy who 2 public inquiries (LRT, Convoy Protest) pilloried for witholding vital information from City Council. Not my idea of who should be so honored.
Boggles the mind! This is the guy who 2 public inquiries (LRT, Convoy Protest) pilloried for withholding vital information from City Council. Not my idea of who should be so honored. #ottcity
Rumour has that Jim Watson, former mayor of Ottawa, has made the Order of Ottawa list, despite being pilloried in 2 public inquiries - on Ottawa's LRT and on the Convoy Protest - for his conduct in witholding vital information from City Council. #ottnews

We have sent out a letter to the premier of Ontario, Doug Ford, opposing his plan to remove speed cameras, which have been shown to overwhelmingly increase safety on our roads.

Thanks @hansonthebike.bsky.social for putting the letter together, and @pbickerton.bsky.social for the great graphics!

Some good polling & analysis on the speed camera issue. A majority of Ontarians support speed cameras, although a majority PC voters do not. PC voters support speed cameras near schools at a much higher number however. press.liaisonstrategies.ca/ontario-pcs-... #topoli #onpoli #onted

The Ford government has dropped another big bill: Fighting Delays, Building Faster. This one would prohibit removing vehicle lanes to build bike lanes, initiate a review of the building code, propose standardized Offical Plans and more. news.ontario.ca/en/release/1...

It's just as true now as it was 70 years ago.
It's a goal of mine to help make this the most famous, well-known and UNDERSTOOD quote about cities in history. Please share it as much as you can.

Ford just put every renter in Ontario into an even more precarious position. This is a clear and present danger to the 1.7 million renters in Ontario.
In particular, they want leases to no longer necessarily remain in effect indefinitely, so that landlords have more options for creating tenant turnover.

Proposed changes from the Ontario government would drastically reduce protection for tenants.

This is appalling and would put some folks in serious danger in this era of very low vacancy, skyrocketing rental rates, and rent decontrol.

Nearly 40% of Ottawa residents are renters.
