I'm gonna go out in a limb here, since I majored in Manufacturing, not PoliSci, but I have suspicion that, if we had won the election, the current authoritarianism may have been prevented.

Just got somebody yesterday calling from "your tv service". Then they said they were from Charter, which isn't even available where I live.

For me, it's South Carolina. I don't know how many times I had to hit the brakes because people don't understand that when turning left, you must yield to oncoming traffic.

And everybody going 10-15 over the limit at all times didn't help.

The illusory power of overconfidence is what gives users a warped feeling of certainty over subject matter neither they nor the LLM actually understand. This is why people keep sending you screenshots of Gemini summaries as if they’re the final word on any disagreement.

There's also the tricky issue of Al as a tool for profit. Experts say that users roundly prefer confident LLMs to ones that admit when they can't find data or deliver an accurate answer - even when that information is totally made up. If a company like ChatGPT were to stamp out sloppy hallucinations for good, it would scare off users in droves.
