Reporters would do well to talk to folks that work in emergency medical services in areas with increased ICE activity.

These folks care about people, and aren’t paid well enough to keep silent about the shit they bear witness to if you earn their trust.

Did people really memorize phone numbers before cell phones, or is that just a movie thing?

I was watching some old shows from the 90s and noticed people would just dial numbers from memory - like they'd call their friends or family without looking anything up.
Made me wonder if that was actually normal back then? Did people genuinely have all their important numbers memorized, or did most folks keep a little address book or written list nearby?

Interesting talk with a relative who works in a division of a major tech Co about AI usage. The corp has added an "AI usage" dashboard as an evaluation metric and is requiring coders and managers to use AI "at every point possible."

Really not giving "strong and wise investment" energy.

NEW: There’s a disaster unfolding in Alaska right now. And no major network is covering it.

The remnants of Typhoon Halong battered western Alaska overnight. Homes, with people in them, have literally been swept into the Bering Strait.

W.: No. I spoke to them in a friendly manner; I never hit, kicked or killed any. I do not feel like a criminal just because I had to guard them. Germany had invaded Yugoslavia and that was a crime against humanity and international law. Then the Nazis conscripted me and brought me to Auschwitz. And how was I supposed to get away from there? If I had deserted, they would have shot me.
