Excellent 1979 film that mostly “aged well” re its depiction of local TV news journalism and Corp + Gov corruption involved in the build-out of nuclear power plants in America post-WWII. Bonus: I saw this on its premiere in #SF thanks to the YouthGroup leaders at my fam’s United Methodist church.

Update + Correction on the shooting at #FarragutNorth in DC bsky.app/profile/apne...
This #FarragutNorth WMATA station was my redline stop for several yrs when I worked in the adjacent building on #ConnecticutAvenue in DC. Terrible. Sad for the service members who died + for their families. (Also, I’m dreading the inevitable Outsized reaction by 47 and his DoD goon, Whiskey Pete.) 🤦🏽‍♀️

Yep. Black and other non-White Journos have known this and sounded alarms since at least the publication of the #KernerCommission Fed report on civic unrest in the late ‘60s. Sadly, other than a brief window in mid-‘70s-early ‘90s, when CorpNews tepidly recruited non-trad Journos, the industry DGAF🤷🏽‍♀️
If you're ever wondered why journalists seem so out of touch most of the time it's because in order to establish yourself you need to either come from money, marry into money, or be OK with abject poverty and daily financial panic
