Among Nuzzi’s defenders there’s this unspoken belief that being a journalist is an immutable quality of a person, rather than simply being a job that someone can have. They have no concept of a journalist being bad at their job.

The reason reporters are talking about the Nuzzi stuff so much, besides gawking at a car crash, is that there's a handful of prestige jobs like that left, and we've all been passed over and know other reporters who've been passed over for them in favor of well-networked barnacles.

i said this a few weeks ago, but a reminder that windows 10 being "end of life" does not mean your operating system will immediately stop working. even if the OS itself doesn't get updates, the apps you use most often (the browser.) still are. more important to have adblock + firewall these days

There's a reason my police abolitionism is often expressed as "I don't call the cops because I don't want someone to roll up six hours later and shoot my dog" to folks I'm trying to warm up to the concept.

I have long believed that we should be WAY more vocal about how police and ICE constantly murder dogs, and I think this is great messaging actually.

The reality is that you can mobilize a whole lot of usually tuned-out Americans around a “someone is being mean to hecking doggos” cause.
