Whatever you think of the White House as a building or a symbol, the fact is that the image of it being torn apart on a whim two days after 7 million people hit the streets against autocracy is going to make a HUGE amount of people really, really angry, and that's an energy that should be harnessed.

Thinking about this more, and it’s really interesting to see how my personal taste has changed over the course of being in the fandom! There’s still stuff that I’m drawn to (polyam triads by beloved) but at the beginning I wasn’t interested in alien biology and now I can’t get enough of it.

I am related to a bunch of McCoys and it’s taken me 2 years to get over my hang up of calling him McCoy in smut fics lmao. It never made me stop reading anything but I certainly couldn’t write him as “McCoy” with a big dick or whatever.

Anyway I’d love to hear what you all love and hate if you have strong preferences! Just about the only thing that has consistently made me click out of a fic is when they call Bones Leo. I can do Leonard or Len or Bones or McCoy but for some reason him as Leo is nails on a chalkboard to me.

Out here masking and teaching my 4 year old to do the same! I figure if I’m wrong he’ll have spent most of his childhood outside/learning to mask, and if I’m right then I’ll have saved him at least a few infections!

Also, re. masking: Even if you don't normally mask, if you have friends/acquaintances who do and you're willing to go places with them, eat outdoors, use air filters, mask when you hang out, etc., please TELL THEM. A lot of us are afraid to ask for fear of ending a friendship (or never starting one)

Oh good, ChatGPT is getting "erotica for verified adults" later this year

We made ChatGPT pretty restrictive to make sure we were being careful with mental health issues. We realize this made it less useful/enjoyable to many users who had no mental health problems, but given the seriousness of the issue we wanted to get this right.

Now that we have been able to mitigate the serious mental health issues and have new tools, we are going to be able to safely relax the restrictions in most cases.

In a few weeks, we plan to put out a new version of ChatGPT that allows people to have a personality that behaves more like what people liked about 4o (we hope it will be better!). If you want your ChatGPT to respond in a very human-like way, or use a ton of emoji, or act like a friend, ChatGPT should do it (but only if you want it, not because we are usage-maxxing).

In December, as we roll out age-gating more fully and as part of our “treat adult users like adults” principle, we will allow even more, like erotica for verified adults.

As a person with endo who fought almost a decade to get doctors to listen to me, it’s so validating every time I hear someone say something like this. I have so much trouble making appointments and going to them because of my years of horrible experiences. It sucks.

I’ve had some great doctors in my life- including at this hospital and even this exact unit- but I’ve also had some dismissive, patronising, and rude doctors, and it only takes one moment to ruin a patients trust in the whole damn system, possibly forever
