Remember I posted about this weird “business event” in Miami in Nov feat Trump, Infantino, Messi, Will Smith, bankers and execs?

They now added Milei and Corina Machado to the lineup.

Once again, one reason Trump says & does whatever he wants is bc every societal institution, including the media, has totally normalized & internalized the idea that the laws, the Constitution, & the international treaties we have signed & ratified simply don’t apply to this one guy. It’s maddening.
No mention at all of the fact that Trump doesn't have the legal authority to do this, that plans haven't even been reviewed (because the office is closed for the government shutdown), that the size and cost estimates keep changing, etc., etc.

Alice Paul earned a🎓Ph.D. in sociology from the University of Pennsylvania in 1912, but what’s especially remarkable is that her dissertation, The Legal Position of Women in Pennsylvania, was so thorough and scholarly that it was used by state legislators as a reference document for decades.

I'm tired. We're all tired. This isn't hard to understand. You can't inflate prices of basic necessities like food and housing to ridiculous highs while keeping wages at poverty levels, then act surprised when luxury goods/services and large purchases become unattainable or payments unaffordable.

Seeing commentary about big tents again. None of us have issues with welcoming folks in our big tent. But we do have an issue with someone showing up and asking to lead the entire party before engaging with us, especially when they’ve never won a single race as a Democrat.
Former Lt. Gov. Geoff Duncan’s decision to run for governor as a Democrat isn’t a stunt. He’s lined up a veteran campaign team, big-time donors and a statewide strategy. But Duncan’s biggest challenge might not be money or organization. It’s trust. #gapol

Never forget that when Irish feminists were fighting to Repeal the 8th, trans women were knocking on doors and lobbying for a woman's right to abortion.

TERFs merely said that, "abortion only exists to make sex easier for men."

We know who *actually* supports women's rights.

This is not the same blackout the system as blackout the system org which is a mass movement to shut down. This is shutting down corporate America for Christmas. And if it takes hold, which is very likely, it’s the first step towards the national one.

Suggestions are to shop locally and small or make gifts or gift food. But avoid all major corporations completely.

I am onboard.

Epically beautiful and also a bit scary and heartbreaking. We are on the precipice now of revolution or dictatorship. Those are the only jump offs. America largely made their choice today.

Already there are mass calls to cancel Christmas. A national grab your wallet, fuck the corps. It could work.
