December 18th in Chicago.
Lashing rain drums the window pane as I eat my Gruyère omelet with a cup of Bustelo. WFMT fills the space in our small kitchen with an oratorio, and I read another book of 100 Bullets before I have to go and make the donuts.

Hey, @mariephillips.bsky.social and I have been given a gorgeous Roberts Rambler Max (joint Wedding/Xmas present) and are assembling cool internet-only stations. So far we have FipJazz, WFMU, Soho Radio and Dublab but need a good classical station and some other cool wider-world suggestions.

WFMT Chicago’s my go-to classic station (don’t be put off by today’s Beethoven-heavy programming- it’s usually more varied but they’re celebrating his Birthday)

One of my early memories of public radio is listening with my parents to the mesmerizing voice of Studs Terkel storytelling, sharing our humanity on WFMT ( Chicago). That memory came to mind this morning and a bsky search found this. Is there a special Studs aura today?
New print in honor of Studs and my neighbors standing up to protect our communities. #letterpress
