#traditions
Our New Year's traditions:

- TRON (1982)
- Cats (2019)
- making Handwiches (the sandwiches of the future)
- Twin Peaks: The Return, Part 8 (timed so that the bomb goes off at midnight)

(In the spirit of Heavensturn/New Year's Eve, does your WoL/OC have any traditions #WoLQuestion #WoLQotD

Sha'dow gets together with as many of their lovers/partners as possible, at at midnight shares a kiss with all of them, then they tuck into a large meal they've prepared together as a family.)

Second generation Bangladeshi, the darkest we've got and also over 6' and quite handsome. So if this year is also a huge bag of hairy bollocks, I think I may lose faith in bullshit ancient traditions.

When hundreds gather to watch one of Northeast Ohio's favorite New Year's traditions, the Chagrin Falls popcorn ball drop, it will look a little different this year.

I haven't posted since last year. I haven't been online since last year. I haven't had a shower since last year!! 😂😂😂

Have to keep up traditions. 😂

HAPPY NEW YEAR! 🥳✨

I don't understand human traditions, why would you want to have to acclimate yourself to a different resolution every year? Do you run out eventually and get stuck with 640*480 for a year?

Europeans mark midnight with traditions

Across Europe, people marked New Year's Eve: Spaniards ate twelve grapes at each midnight stroke, Germans watched 'Dinner for One,' Dutch ate oliebollen and Greeks cooked pork.

Today, I learned about Aberdeenshire fireballs.

More NYE traditions need this kind of energy

Also, my house is clean, last load of laundry on, food prepped to be on the stove by midnight - all my Gullah-Geechee traditions (superstitions) are in place. #2026 #NewYearsEve

Sounds so good! What kind of greens? I like black eyed peas but like lentils better.
Are the lentils the round thing or was there something else?
I love these traditions!

We already don’t have any real traditions for NYE. Pretty much all we do is just play board games until 11:45 and then turn on the ball drop.

But this year half the family is off doing other things, so we can’t even do that.

What am I supposed to do for the next 3 hours? Stare at the walls??

In the wilds and natural world. In the scent of garden, the fires warmth , the sigh of the wind, the song of the birds. And it is perhaps still mingled with Abrahamic God’s traditions and beliefs. But it’s… obviously no where near the same. I’ll discuss that more at a later time. 2/?

Got sucked into a conversation with an OT and an SLP that I work with re: new years traditions and superstitions and now:

-we're all eating oranges today and tomorrow.

-everyone has cash to put in their pockets for tonight.

-none of us are doing laundry tomorrow.

Ok as an semiotic anthropologist who studies heritage: all traditions are invented (as is all heritage)

i feel like an american when i kinda assume that other countries do the same traditions as us

One of the NYE traditions my husband and I have enjoyed for decades continues tonight.

1. Rejoicing as a thing you do, rather than a feeling has been very freeing. I have gone to protests and concerts, danced with other queers in bars and basements, and celebrated the holiday traditions that matter to me with the family I made. Highly recommended.

Happy New Year’s Eve! 🎉

How do you celebrate? Any traditions?
In our home, we celebrate with fondue for dinner and we all have such a fun time with it!

Happy New Years!!
